A collection agency agent. I underwent all the training and ran out of the boiler room when I saw how it really was.

In high school, I worked at a call center that did outbound sales. I only managed to make it there two weeks. It was horrific. I had to sell tickets to some firefighter's ball.

After high school, I worked at the Gap downtown Cleveland. I hated it more than anything.

I did cold call sales for several years. Collection calls are 100 times worse.

I was a bagger at Jewel-Osco too. I worked my way up to Stocker, then Dairy/Frozen Foods before the store in Bloomington, IN (where I was going to college) closed down. I was there a total of 6 years. I enjoyed it. Especially once I started working the on the night crew stocking shelves. We actually had a pretty good time.

Worse job? Dish washer at a French restaurant. I only lasted 2 weeks there.

Helped a friend with her kids when she was sick. It was just more reinforcement that I never, ever, ever wanted children. It was worse than any crap job I ever had!

    Scratch what I said. . .

My little sister asked me to babysit once. I did. It was the worst thing ever.

I am now 34 years old and I've changed a diaper exactly ONCE in my entire life. I have NEVER baby-sat a child except my niece. It was nightmarish. Kids whine and cry and want all sorts of shit that I'm not interested in providing. I have 16 nieces and nephews and because of little Kailey, I will never EVER again watch a kid. In fact, several years back another sister had an emergency and called me begging and I said, "Who would you call if I were dead?" She said, "I'd probably call someone else. . ." and I said, "Good, do that."

    No way, Ho-zay.

I really do not think that helping out with your own families kids is a job.

I can't think of a job that I hated to do. What made many jobs I've had feel bad is the supervision that I had. Some supervisors shouldn't be in their positions because they really don't understand their role at the job and how to handle people very well. That makes everyone else a bit apprehensive and confused.

Lathing rollers for vaccuum cleaners. Turn left, grab two pieces of wood, insert in slots, push the two large red buttons, remove rollers, turn right, place in bin, turn 180 degrees left, continue. It was so loud and so dangerous I could not think. I definitely needed to be replaced by a robot, but I quit before this happened.

Oh, correction. I read some of the other posts.

Cold call sales, yes, that was the worst and so was I at it.

I worked at a fast food restaurant for 9 months while in high school. It sucked so bad that, at the time, I swore to myself that I'd resort to crime before working fast food again.

My first job was the worst one. I was a telephone spammer!

After school I would go to an office that had a desk. Nothing more. There were four things on the desk: a telephone, a pencil, a computer-generated list of every possible phone number and a speech to recite to the person who answered the phone.

This is how it went every night...
    Hello.
Hello. Is this the lady of the house?
    SLAM
    repeat

Or... HOW DID YOU GET MY PHONE NUMBER. I'M UNLISTED!
    oops
    repeat

Additionally, there wasn't a bathroom. When I had to pee, I had to leave and walk half a block to a gas station and borrow the key to their bathroom.

I'm glad I had that job, though, because it made my second sucky job seem better than it was. I became a gift wrapper in a department store. Pleasing people and having an indoor bathroom was a great improvement!

I never sold a single subscription, either.

Over the years... bill collecters have been callin me when my nabors owe money... i tell 'em they have the rong number... "John-doe" dont live here... then they ask if i know "john-doe"... i tell 'em i dont give out that kind of informaton over the fone... somtims they ask if i will give a message to "john-doe"... i say i will for a percentage of what "john-doe" owes... they say they will keep callin if i dont tell them what they want to know... i say oK... thank you.!!!

An call bak they do... an then i tell 'em varous thangs like:::

"john-doe" has died so thers no need to keep callin me... they ask if i had proof that "john-doe" died... i said no... i dont even know "john-doe"... they ask... then how do you know "john-doe" died... i said my psychic tolt me an then LOL.!!!

Somtims i tell 'em that i will pay 50% of what "john-doe" ows if they will stop callin me... an recently they said they woud except that offer... however... they refused to give me an address to male the check to... they wanted my bank info an said they woud wit-draw the money directly from my bank... i said i wasnt comfortable doin it that way... an then i requested that they start callin me twice a week insted of jus once cause i realy do enjoy talkin to 'em... an they did call bak the nest week an wanted to know if i was related to "john-doe"... i said... well... firs you give me som info an then i will give you som info... an he said oK... what do you want to know... i ask what color his under-ware was... he had me to repete the queston an finaly said "blue"... i said... oh sht... Clueluss, I wish you had been on my phone list way-back-when. You would have made at least one night memorable, sale or no sale!

One time I got a phone call while I was working (many years later) from a horny guy who thought he was calling his girl friend. He didn't notice I wasn't her and proceeded to tell me what he would like to do to my body. Now, that was a treat from the mundane. I spoiled it by telling him he had a wrong number....after several minutes of enthrallment, that is.

Worst job I ever had was counting inventory for social security files in Kansas City, MO. in these caves. Numbers after numbers after numbers. It sucked trying to stay awake while making sure the numbers on the sheets of paper matched the SS# on the file.

Well, I have packed pickles on the graveyard shift, dug ditches, been a Longshoreman, worked in an auto plant, done retail, construction...lots of hard jobs. Early on it was for cash at a Carnie, way below minimum wage, got $1.65/hour at the pickle factory when the min was $1.50. The .15 was shift premium.

Thing is, they were all jobs, I had to work and they paid the bills. The pickle factory finally put me out back cleaning the sorting machines with a big steel rake thing. First the sewer backed up so we were knee deep in sewage all shift, then my machine developed a short circuit so I would occasionally get a nasty shock when I cleaned it. I was young and tough though, so I just put on a pair of gloves and kept them dry. Looking back, that may have been the worst job I ever had, but I did enjoy it and it paid the bills.

I picked the "pickles" off the vines an we took 'em to a factory an dumped 'em out of our grass sacks into a sortin machine... an then we woud get a check based on how many pounds of #1 thru 6 (size) pickles we had dumped into the sorter.!!!

I seem to recall that i made the mos money from the #2 size pickles... that was over 40 years ago.!!!

I did cold calls for a masonry company when I was a kid, and was better at it than anyone the boss had even seen. I put that company on the map!

Worst job I had was painting the basement of a Chinese restaurant, with three or four Chinese workers chopping vegetables in the same room!
