I really do find it amazing that you, a complete outsider who has never set foot in the country, probably does not even know how to say 'hello' in Maori, can have the nerve to declare him to not be a Maori by your standards. Your standards mean nothing because you are not a Maori yourself. You know nothing of their culture or what it takes to be a Maori. You have this assumption that to be a Maori, one must speak the language and dress as a Maori.

He doesn't need to identify as a Maori, because he is part Maori. It is a part of him and his culture and family history and language. Most importantly, why should he identify as a Maori to an Indian woman so that she can pass judgement on whether he is Maori enough?

It is not for you to say how Maori he is.

You know fuck all about Maori's, their culture, how they live.. nothing. Yet you seem to be deeming yourself as some sort of expert and judging others on how Maori they are.

He is a Maori. How he identifies himself is really beside the point. He is a Maori. It is in his blood. He doesn't have to speak the language or dress like a traditional Maori or wear special tribal dress to be a Maori. He is a Maori. That is what you cannot seem to grasp.

No actually, you're not. It is really none of your business. No one made you a judge of other people's ethnicity. I mean seriously, who the fuck do you think you are?
