The eradication of views critical to national ideology or the ruling elite is a major aim of many totalitarian systems; one of the ways of trying to achieve this objective is described below.

Berlin May 10th 1933. As described by an eyewitness:

    Sound familiar?

I've seen something similar at a couple university campuses I attended. All the bookstores had books that tended to be pro-communist, especially in the liberal arts sections. I didn't see any books that were with pro free democratic values. Naturally, I didn't see any books that talked about the millions of civilians that were killed under communist governments during the 20th century. If I didn't know better, I'd say those university bookstores would like to overturn free democratic societies into communist societies.

As soon as I stepped off the campus into a public bookstore, I could find books with a whole spectrum of views.

i went to an adult book store, and it was like they're trying to turn everyone into people who will purchase porn... but then as soon as i went to another book store i was like 'hey where's the porn' and they were like 'wut' and we all lolled uproariously.

That's a poor analogy since adult book stores are specifically for porn only. These university campus bookstores didn't have themselves advertised as "communist bookstore".....
Or were you inferring that these university bookstores are naturally pro-communist as a given ?

But that brings up an interesting question, if some government morals group started collecting and burning porn. Is that the same as the Nazi censorship? I’m reminded the of that film about Larry Flint.

But also what about subject matter? Should books that glorify Jihad and suicide bombing be banned and on that porn issue what about child porn?

There is a line but where is it?

I hate the idea that people are looking at Jihad books, but I'm toalally aganst child porn, but then what about the art works of children ie: Bill Henson?

REPLY: Why on Earth do you call yourself ScaryMonster ? And your avatar is that of a art nouveau beauty. They are opposites. I do see a simularity in what muslim propagandists are pumping out. Is that what you are referring to ? They also kill people who do not buy into their brand of beliefs and things like that. ....TRAVELER

Hi Traveler, I call myself ScaryMonster Because Scary has been my nick name since I was 17, a Bikie (In America they’re called Biker’s I believe) friend gave me that nick name because I’m reasonably big and a good fighter. It’s a pun on my name Cary with an S in front of it. “S-Cary”
I do Mixed Martial Arts and I was dubbed ScaryMonster by my trainer after one partially tough fight I had with him. ScaryMonster applies to me because when I fight I can be ‘Scary’, which is at odds with my easygoing nature and appearance outside of the ring.

My avatar is of a hero from the “Kalevala “ an epic book of Finnish folklore that’s considered Finnish national epic. The Hero in the avatar is called Lemminkäinen usually depicted as young man, with wavy blonde hair. Which kind of describes how I look. Also I’m half Finish, half Australian.

I actually had a discussion with a friend of mines who’s a Coptic Christian, he was telling me about this campaign the Moslems had in Egypt killing pigs under the pretext of swine flu. (You can’t catch swine flu by eating pork.)
Anyway he said it was just an excuse to attack Christians who mostly owned the pigs, and the method of killing them was cruel. They poured quick lime over the still living pigs.

Burning pigs alive or books is an act of repression let it go unchecked and people will soon be the ones that start being burnt.
He said that these sorts of persecutions been going on for years in Egypt and the world just ignores it.

    . i accept i am a hyprocite.
i don't want things go extreme.
if we read history properly we will get ideas that something is wrong.
people who start war are given nobel prizes.
some rich people ( i am generalization ) would love to beat others, but they don't do cause they create this sense of 'superiority' being better 'mannered'.
people become low in their eyes they just don't want to touch them.
    this is what unsympathy is.
