I really do get the impression you don't know what evolution is about.

I think the protruding Forehead and excess facial and body hair maybe a clue that the "Cave Man" was not one of the crowd.
And first of all you are assuming that the "Cave Man" would be able to communicate in a manor that would be effectively which would be needed for sufficient knowledge transfer.

Speak for yourself. Most people are, consciously or unconsciously, very particular.

to a degree...(caution;can of worms being opened...)
most women that i have met say they are selective in their choices but when it came down to it they made their choice based only on how they were feeling and not by any criteria previously set..see movie Idiocracy..
the exception is the selective female..the norm is not selective..

Nowhere have I, or anyone that I know of who is competent to have an opinion on the matter, suggested that the selection process was conscious.
They based it on how they were feeling!

Well, duh, and what made them feel that way? They were subconsiously evaluating their potential mate on the basis of a host of characteristics, subtle and obvious, such characteristics impacting on their 'feelings'.

Evolution is an ongoing process--it's inevitable, even on the scale of a single human lifetime; because as you'll know, there's 50% genetic change with every generation. That's the essence of evolution--all that's required for physical evolution to take place. Evolution is just a fancy word for endless generational genetic change, after all.

    Evolution is all around you

evolution is all around you instead of evolving physical features the human race has developed technology and it gets faster and smaller and enables us to do more and more we can speak to each other from across the planet or from outside of it for that matter we travel to outer space something no other species can touch. we fly we have boats and submersibles to conquer the water
we have vehicles that travel o0n land at speeds that rival the sound barrier we heal our sick and wounded and sometimes can even revive the dead and all of these technologies are constantly improving and all are a result of the evolution of the human mind
now as far as physical evolution look to your professional athletes all the old records are being broken we are jumpinh higher running faster and just plain performing better so yes evolution does continue and happens everyday all around you
