i considered that, but i dislike writing your own review stuff, i find it really stupid. everyone can say 'i'm hardworking' etc., i'm hoping that in my honest answer i'll speak well enough to convey whatever level of intelligence and speaking skills i possess, which i think is adequate.

on the night i'll suss the interviewer, and if i think he wants to hear that kind of crap i'll add at the end 'i realise this was an opportunity for me to say that i'm hardworking and reliable, but i hope my job history and referees will say that for me, i felt this better represented me'.

i'm still kind of debating how much i need to sell myself, and how much i can rely on the interviewer to appreciate some sincerity.

lol yeah i thought of that, but i didn't know how to pull it off. none of my friends are good enough actors to fake being a lawyer. also when i imagined the execution, i can see it being very lame.

    cool avatar, good movie huh.

Please explain why taking a Registered fire arm to a meeting is going to get you a life term. And if they do not except you for who you are then maybe just maybe you dont want to work there.

I'll take with me one of these:
    • detective conan book, because this is my favorite reading (what is your favorite reading or character? can as well bring a book about that topic)
    • chess board, because I play this often (what is your hobby?)
    • agenda book, because I like to organize myself, simple things like writing down appointment, work plan, holiday plan, etc

Maybe you should take something with you that explains why you want that particular job and why you would be good at it.

    Yea, the movie was fine

That will be sound artificial/manipulative. He needs the job because he needs the money!!??!

Things -that represent you- can describe your personality, like whether you are analytical, creative, monotonous, etc. There is no right or wrong, but suit for the job or not. My guess is that he should bring just something that correctly represent himself, so if he doesn't get the job, means he is not suitable for it, means he won't enjoy it anyway.

No, I said that particular job. And the item would describe his personality.
I was just presenting the 'problem' in a different light, so it might be easier for him to find something.

Only if he can find his personality aspect that is going to match the job. Maybe he can notify Superstring about this thread, coz he is some kind of HRD Manager (in real life) (?)

If I want to hire someone to be shop assistant in my computer game shop, I guess I’ll hire someone who won’t easily get bored, familiar with computer game, love to talk to people (customer), etc. Depends on the job description. And of course soem general requirement, like honest, on-time, fun to be with (should be able to cooperate).

the ace of spades was used in the vietnam war by yanks to scare the vietnamese, and in ww2 used by an airborne division as a symbol for luck, so i'll mention that and then mention how much i like war games.

well since it is in a shop..I would bring something that conveys that you like to help people out, you have knowledge of games.. even if it isnt much... They want someone good with people, who will be a hard, honest worker.. they dont want you stealing games from the store...lol!!!

around here, I would just have to flash a world of warcraft game, or mention something about it, and I would have the job.. lol... we are WoW nerds.. and I just just about everyone...so 60% of the population where I live, plays it.. Thankfully I stopped a year ago.. haha.. 2 years of that mess was hard!! hahaha!!

    Try the Dilbert approach:

Interviewer: And what would you like?
Dilbert: I'd like a million dollars a year and three months annual leave.
Interviewer: Er no, I mean what do you expect?
Dilbert: Oh, I expect you'll give the job to someone who'll work for less money than me and is better qualified.
