Morning Glory Clouds

These are “Mammatus Clouds”, so called because they resemble pendulous tits hanging in the sky.

The first image by Hercules Rockafellar is a type of cloud that is usually seen on the leeward side of a mountain range of significant latitudinal length. Air going over the mountain basically creates a standing wave pattern in the atmosphere and so you get varying air densities. They could technically happen anywhere, but often pilots check with radio tower before entering mountainous terrains. In the case you posted they appear to be the result of oceanic standing waves.

Orleander posted dense fog, her second image I think is called 'fracto-stratus'.

Scarywalker, I'm not sure what the first is, but it looks like a merging of two fronts...that are very disagreeable. THe second image, is basically a vertical version of the image Hercules posted.

The last picture you posted I have no idea what those are. It looks to be the result of some sort of crazy mix of an occluded front experiencing massive entrainment.

That is a 'new' type of cloud, recently discovered,
Undulatus asperatus

I hear they attract glider pilots because of the massive wind-shear they cause. Technically, these types of clouds are called "Roll Clouds", the Morning Glory Cloud is a special type that occurs only in the Gulf of Carpentaria (Northern Australia).

But since we are on the topic of interesting clouds, how about this one...
