Only problem is, we see NONE of this in the movies... even the DS had to approach the rebel base around the moon instead of hyperspacing above it, firing, and hyperspacing away... so we can safely assume that, no, it can't do it. Because we SAW that it COULDN'T do it.

 

And no, the Cube didn't adapt to the firepower of a Galaxy class starship... it was able to adapt to an entire FLEET of HUNDREDS of vessels hitting it on EVERY FREQUENCY known to StarFleet. And that, my friend, was a bloody scout cube - imagine what, oh, I dont' know, a Tactical Cube, ala Voyager, could do?

Kitt. the DS exiting Hyperspace beyond the gas giant is pure plotwriting. You didn't see it exit ontop of the planet but that doesn't mean i can't do it.

There wouldn't be any butterfly effect in a war like this, because the two universes aren't related in any way whatsoever. They beated both the Borg and the Dominion before the development of time travel... It would be like going back in time to kill Hitler.

That is something you can't know for sure. Who's to say that both Universes aren't connected. Don't forget the opening sequence 'A long long time ago in ....' Not really. Since the UFP exists in the future they can't be defeated in their past, or we would have a paradox. The fact that they have temporal warfare suggests that they don't have a lot of problems with time travel, also.
