I have become a durian addict. I love durian. I love its smell, its taste, I love what it has to offer (high K content and tryptophan) and I eat it every day now. I buy it for 5$ in a frozen bag in a chinese market, and they are already seedless and are soooo delicious!

Besides eating the raw frozen fruit which actually does not smell as strong when it is frozen still, I also eat durian patties...they taste so delicious.

Anyways, anyone tried it? I am now officially selecting it is, a Lifetime award fruit for myself. I will not skip a day without it.

I have never understood what people have against Durian, I love it too. The only thing I dislike might be the texture but it tastes so good. The smell isn't that bad but you can get kicked out of hotels in Asia for keeping it in your room. Its strong I'll give them that.

yeah, I think the reason why Durian is being called so smelly is because people who love Durian are afraid that other people will start buying it in masses and the price of Durian will rise.

You're right Durian is pretty affordable considering its size, not as large as jackfruit but still. Jackfruit is another of my favorites.

Doesn't tryptophan make one feel sleepy? Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.

We have a lot of durian in my country, I also luvvvv durian! The way we eat it, we mixed it with some other fruits, like tomato, avocado, jack fruit, coconut, and then put a lot of ICE and a bit sugar and milk into it, like this:

and we call that "es campur durian", yummmmmm....

If I eat too much durian, though, my stomach will feel hot, so I just eat moderately.

I don't care for the smell or the flavor of them but do like Lychee Nuts however.

cosmic...this thread is about durian and durian only. I dont consider it to be a "weird" fruit or strictly asian. Yes lychee tastes good, but it cannot compare to what durian has to offer.

Durian is like eating a soggy pear wrapped in wet paper towels and onion sauce.

Does this shit do anything special, like make me euphoric, or should I just go eat an orange or something?
