I see her as incredibly smart. Pageants are for self-marketing. So, who won? Who knows, we all talk about Miss Cali

I think she's a stupid bitch. She's once again made pageant contestants look like dumb, hypocritical sluts. Just what pretty women needed, another negative stereotype!

She's claiming she's sooo prim and proper and "not raised that way" regarding gay marriage. Was she raised to think mincing around topless was okay? I admit, it grates on my nerves.

Well, how to put it? I do care, but at the same time, I don't. If people want to get married, or have equivalent rights under the civil union moniker, then I say give them equal rights.
People who say same-sex marriage or same-sex unions aren't a civil rights issue obviously don't understand the meaning of "civil rights", and I have heard people say such a thing.
I guess whether or not you call it marriage or something else is dependent on how you feel about the term "Separate but equal." I think life partners of the same gender deserve to be able to share the same legal rights as opposite sex couples who are allowed to marry. I guess it depends on which state you are in, what rights you are entitled to through channels other than legal marriage.
The reason I am kind of neutral on it is that to me it seems like marriage very often is just a title. The divorce rate is roughly 50%, and I have heard it is actually higher in certain Christian denominations, the same ones who claim to be protecting it. I think a true lasting relationship will flourish regardless of what title you give it.
However, as long as certain rights can be denied to people who don't have that recognition or require them to do extra work to ensure those rights through different means, then I think giving at the least an equivalent institution is not just what I would expect from any decent constitutional democracy or republic, but is really the only fair course of action.

I am pretty supportive of state's rights issues and localized governments being able to decide things that aren't specifically given to the Federal government's jurisdiction. I feel marriage is one of those issues. I didn't think a federal same-sex union ban was a good idea, and although I feel the opposite would be a more fair doctrine, I just can't support the Feds dictating to individual states how to regulate marriage on either side of the issue.
I think if it's a truly good idea, it will catch on, and I think that it is. It should be left to states to decide.

    :shy: Aww, shucks!

Wow! These people and their gay this, gay that banter! You attend one event and suddenly you're an activist. That's rich! :roflmao:

How bout that mysterious, mischievous and infamous institution known as the "gay lifestyle"?
'I was living the gay lifestyle and felt so empty...' or 'I left the homosexual lifestyle when I found God...'
You're attracted to someone of your own gender, and somehow you suddenly have this exotic, foreign way of life that revolves around sex and parties 24/7 ("Wow! No sooner had I come out of the closet, than I found the nearest bath house for a good time!"). Or attending AIDS rallies and wearing the appropriate red attire. Or being like totally into decorating and simply adoring Carson Kressley.

And now, trying to get in people's good graces, bring up your NON-lesbian sister who's IN THE AIR FORCE (how butch!) who attended a single event supporting LGBT civil rights, and claim she's a gay activist! Or as the Phelps family of Westboro Baptist Church would call her: a fag/dyke enabler. Which is just as bad as the real thing!

Sorry for that silly rant, but I felt it was appropriate.

    BRAVA! :worship:

    Great find...

But where's the infamous picture?!?! Oh, well. We can only imagine.
By the way, the article says the picture was run in a gossip blog, and I figured at once it must be Perez Hilton's, but I have perused several recent pages and have not seen it there. Though there are some other funny things, including a recent picture of Jacko in his now trademark surgical mask, and a bit on Mel Gibson's mistress!

Nowhere! Not to be offensive except in jest, but maybe your current avatar of Spongebob looking shocked and lost is a hint about your knowledge of Biblical morals? Even though the article says she was topless but had her back turned to the camera (not revealing her bare chest but her back, we must assume), such revealing photography should never be considered conservative, nor conservative Christian.

On the other hand, I saw her alma mater being listed as a Christian liberal arts college. Maybe it's part and parcel of being a liberal/conservative Christian hybrid???

Again, she doesn't have to be a lesbian to be a hypocrite for embracing a conservative Christian doctrine while embracing a liberal women's lib doctrine for her own personal gain. Women's liberation, you ask? Yes. Risque photo shoots aren't in line with her feigned morals, unless inconsistent morality is what she embraces!

According to the short article, it wasn't necessarily topless, but it sounds like something that was very un-Christian for someone who professes to support what God wants to force on a minority she isn't part of.
Go ahead, admit it. It should grate on your nerves!

I almost feel sorry for her, in a way. I'm mean, most of us have our our foibles, however minor. But I think this qualifies as something truly outstanding.

Oh! Poor her! Poor Miss Morality!

Whoa! Andixcore! You must be real cool! I've seen that X before. What does it mean? All I know is that all the young guys that have an 'X' in their name are really awesome and emo and all. Maybe I should take heed?

    Obviously not Black Francis.

I don't have a problem with pink underwear. Carrie publicly stated her "biblical values" enabled her to limit the rights of gays. Why shouldn't she be called out for ignoring the "biblical values" that condemn her actions ?

But to answer your question, 1 Timothy 2:9 is one verse, there are actually many more. I was raised christian but have evolved to an agnostic/atheist approach. One of the reasons I evolved is because of the hypocrisy found in many churches.

You know, if she hadn't ran her big, fat fresh mouth, I'd feel a little sorry for her. Looks like something any girl takes for her boyfriend or husband. You know what though? You want to tell everyone how you were raised to abhor alternative sexuality and sexual identity, you keep your shirt on.

Why can't we just leave this person alone with the way she wants to think? It is incredible that so much negativity has come down on her just because she thinks the way she does . It only shows that those who are degrading her are not very tolerant as well .

Um, bullshit. I don't care how she believes, CT. I care how she acts. She is acting like a little bitch. She wasn't in the running for Miss Congeniality for a reason: Saying things like, "I wasn't raised that way," is incredibly nasty. Then she's posing nude. Was she raised that way? Uh huh. I see those Christian values only apply when you're not showing off your hot tits.

She goes out of her way to insult every single person who believes in gay marriage by implying we were raised by wolves (and GAY wolves, at that), and I'm supposed to be nice now? No sir, Mr. Charlie.

I enjoy her "tits" myself for there's nothing in the Bible I read that says you can't show of your tits! I'll bet you have nice tits as well, want to show us yours?
