Oh. Then yes. In that case, BJs count.

It's not my fault your question was confusing.

Well... maybe they are concerned because of the company she keeps?
Her opinions allowed her to get on board with these people:

I'm sure some people here may have seen this ad before. There are quite a few spoofs of it now.
I like the so-called California doctor who apparently is forced to choose between her faith and her job... because of same-sex marriage.:bugeye:
According to one response video, she isn't even a medical doctor, though it is strongly implied by the commercial.

Anywho, Miss California is kind of a spokesperson for them at the moment.

Sure, she is just another voice in the juggernaut, but since NOM is not on good terms with the "gay community" (REALLY?

) I can see why it would be a big deal for alot of people.

I've heard his name before, but don't know much about him, not till now.
One must wonder why exactly he was a judge in the first place! I don't know whether he ambushed her, however. Given that Miss California is from, you got it, California, and that the Proposition 8 (gay marriage) controversy has been a huge issue in the last couple months in that same state, I would say it was a pretty fair question to ask.

Well, I think you're probably only partly serious, or maybe not at all but it deserves a response.

Makeup is understandable, but explain to me the feasibility of boob jobs in the Old Testament era. And I don't think extra padding in your shirt counts.
I also don't think public exhibitionism in skimpy swimwear is very biblical or godly.
Carrie Prejean, in her full fake boob glory...

I just can't fathom a woman running around in that during the times of the Old or New Testament and NOT being instantly branded a harlot or some such.

Sodomy, a word not rooted in either Hebrew or the Bible, but of much later provenance.
Sodomy applies not only to same-sex intercourse, but includes other non-missionary position acts amongst heterosexuals.

Furthermore, homosexuality is not mentioned when God says that Sodom and Gomorrah are to be destroyed. Nor is it mentioned in later books which list other things such as inhospitality and general excess as their major sins. The only thing that comes close is the reference in the New Testament (Jude I believe) about going after "strange flesh", but saying that refers to homosexual intercourse is a little difficult, unless your preconceptions have decided your translation for you.
People see the account of attempted rape of the angelic messengers, and simply read "all homosexuals" into it. Or that homosexuality was their major sin. But it really isn't that simple. It also doesn't help that the King James bible inserts the word "sodomite" several times as a very ambiguous translation of a word whose meaning is closer to prostitute.

As for vanity, it is often considered to be a form of pride, which itself is generally accepted either as a sin or something to be avoided. There are differing opinions about it.

Does a beauty contest and breast augmentation count as vanity? Perhaps. Does a woman prancing around in very revealing clothing count? Perhaps.
All I know is that a hundred years ago, give or take a few decades, an outfit like that in public would probably incur the wrath of not only clergy, but the public. I can't imagine what would've happened a thousand years ago. It would have probably been considered grossly indecent and gotten one punished or at least shunned. And it would have been the Christian morality of the day that justified the punishment.

Carrie Prejean is a Christian. She said her statement was not about being politically correct, but biblically correct. See first video at this link here: http://www.washblade.com/blog/blog.cfm?blog_id=25243

The same morality which would have kept women tending home and hearth a century or two ago, is the same morality which apparently no longer applies to her, but is seen as appropriate for application to another minority.
It's funny why people wouldn't consider that just a wee bit of hypocrisy.

Uh, I'm not sure, really. I almost don't care. According to Wikipedia and my own personal knowledge, Netherlands was the first. Canada is another.

    This link gives more details:
    http://gaylife.about.com/od/samesexmarriage/a/legalgaymarriag.htm

    Nations that recognize same-sex marriage:

Other countries recognize same-sex civil unions, but not marriage. Whatever that means.

Individual states within the US have their own interpretations.

What exactly are you getting at? What's with the article on China?

if you dont care about THAT and do care about what miss california says or thinks then i dont know what to tell you.

sometimes these things in u.s are too dramatic, with 4 or 5 states now allowing and afaik performing them why cant this stuff be decided on a federal level?

of course you know how many countries allow same sex marriage or at least have a very good idea. wikipedia outlines them pretty well and while you are at it take a look at how many countries there are and you get the idea of how broad this issue is.

Great post. I'm going to throw a bit more fuel on the fire.
But Roger Neal called her out for her statements. Neal is a San Diego public relations representative that was one of the people from the pageant advising her.

Neal stated, "She chose to stand up in church and in front of the media and say something that was a lie. No one ever said, 'You must apologize to the gay community,' and no one ever said, 'Don't talk about your faith or your religion.' Those two things never came out of anybody's mouth."

The panel suggested that she reaffirm that she didn't intend to be offensive. And it is interesting that Carrie has not denied Neal's claim

Pageant PR rep accuses Miss California of lying

And apparently, she lied when she stated her sister is a gay activist and supports gay marriage.

Her sister was a bit surprised to learn she was a gay activist.

Miss California's Sister 'Surprised' by 'Gay Activist' Title

Christina has only attended one organized event and it was a public forum to discuss "protecting the LGBT community against discrimination". And even the churches distinguish the difference between a gay marriage and a civil union.

    From Websters : Activist

a doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue .

I admire Christina for fumbling through her statement instead of calling Carrie a lier.

I think it's in one of the books of Moses. "And Himham sayeth to Bimblam, 'Though shalt only wear panties of a decent hue, and not of the hot pinks, devious lime greens, nor any neons, nor shall they be besot with penguins."

While I think Miss California is a hypocritical bitch of the highest order (Miss Conservative values, my ass), I don't see nude pictures as a personal flaw.
