I can't remember the name of them, but I've ripped hundreds their heads off. I suppose I've been attacked by them too (urine) but it wasn't so bad.

No I wouldn't lose, a .416, stops hippos quite well, always bring enough gun.

Despite its stocky shape and short legs, it can easily outrun a human. Hippos have been clocked at 30 mph (48 km/h) while running short distances, faster than an Olympic sprinter. The hippopotamus is one of the most aggressive creatures in the world.

Until 1985, naturalists grouped hippos with pigs, based on molar patterns. Evidence, first from blood proteins, then from molecular systematics[8] and DNA [9][10] and the fossil record, show that their closest living relatives are cetaceans—whales, porpoises and the like.[11][12] Hippopotamuses have more in common with whales than they do with other Artiodactyls (even-toed ungulates), such as pigs,

Things like: Am I going to survive the attack, and if yes, am I going to be able to continue my life as before, or will I be handicapped? If the latter, what I am going to do with my life, how am I going to earn a living, what will my goal in life be?

But how many people actually believe that and act accordingly?

Oh, the irony of meat-eating, leather-wearing animal rights activists ...

You're quite a thoughtful person, if you actually waste energy worrying about the future instead of the matter at hand. All I think about is, this thing is going to hurt me, which way do I run?

Well, have you ever actually been charged by an animal? I have. At the time, I didn't think much, but later, it struck me what could happen to me, as it does to so many other people who are charged and attcked by animals.

    Why?

I asked you whether you eat meat to establish your credibility. You didn't answer. Why not?

Which was exactly my point. I've only been actually charged at once by a bull, all I remember thinking was MOVE! My body did the rest itself, very little thinking involved.

Because believing it doesn't make it true.

Because it is besides the point

How is it relevant to treating animals as automatons ?

But after being charged, till this day, you didn't reflect on the injuries you could have sustained?

Why would it be beside the point?

    You say that

I wanted to establish how credible you are, considering the arguments you make.

If you eat meat, that discredits you.

Or do you think that anyone is free to fight for animal rights, regardless whether this person eats meat or not?

Yeah, I thought wow I could have died or been seriously injured and I better stop trying to get close to random animals, but that's about it. I guess it wasn't that traumatic of an experience for me where I actually reflected on my life.

Weren't those statements reagarding slaughterhouses and places which raise animals with the sole purpose of killing them? How is that the same as eating meat? The meat you eat doesn't have to come from one of those places. When it does, you're eating an animal that was imprisoned its whole life without ever actively seeking to accomplish any goals(looking for food, escaping predators); living an unfulfilled life like goldfish in a tank, just driftig and eating, then ultimately being betrayed by the same people that raised it. You could alternatively be eating an animal that had liberty to pursue what it would and run free and live happily until it was unlucky enough to be killed by someone with the intent to sell it for food. It is a little bit different.

Isn't this thread about which animal you'd be most afraid of being charged by? I wouldn't choose to be charged by any animal that's close to my size or bigger.

yeah but most hippo attacks occur when they are in the water. Which means it doesn't really matter what caliber gun your using your not going to shit to the hippo. The water will shield them from your rounds.

The thing isn't five feet underwater attacking you. It gets up close and personal. A round in the forehead is worth two in the ass.
