Moral relativism is merely an idea. Not a reality. The point is that saying "it's their kind of relative morality" makes for a very poor excuse when used to rationalize situations that result in harm to other beings. It is usually just one side who controls that set of morals, while the victims are stuck with it. That goes for every atrocity ranging from genocide to these crush videos.

If it is a society's morals to torture and kill... then it isn't morality at all. It's barbarism.

I cannot, for the life of me, imagine why someone would want to do that.
Quite frankly, I thought we were past this stage.
I regret clicking on the link now..
I thought nothing more could shock me, but.. I was wrong.

I'd love to see what happens when the victim is you or your family or your friends.

Great example of relative morals, Challenged.
Now, what exactly were you challenging with that example?

Did some research. The one in the first link is called "the kitten killer of Hangzhou" and she was a nurse for chrissakes. She got fired from her job in China after people found who she was and what she was doing. From what I read, she's disappeared as well.

    As for this dip:

Wow. Until this thread, I've never even heard of this disgusting crap. Like many others, I'm certainly no animal rights activist; but the kind of sick, twisted bastard that would engage in or be excited by this is probably a danger to society. Start with torturing animals to death for sexual pleasure, eventually you need to move on up the food chain to get your rocks off and we've got a serial killer on our hands.

call it barbarism, call it whatever you want, but society has always been a balance between moral values and desires of flesh

People who start by torturing and killing animals inevitably end up killing people. What worries me is that where there's one cockroach (read psychopathic, f'd up so-called Human) there are probably thousands. I wonder what they're up to in the dark corners and the locked rooms with thcurtains drawn, if some raving mental is brazen enough to do this in public, and arrogant enough to put it on the net. The pit of Human depravity has no floor--some people make a swamp of their lives, and invite us to jump into the morass and swim around in their nasty company.:bugeye:

People you need to treat everyone as people if you want to understand everyone around you and deal with the incosistancies within society of balance between moral values and physical needs.

We need not call them monsters or pigs or cockroaches. They are humans, so are we, so was Hitler, so is Ghandi, so are our children, and that is so and will be such. In order to better deal with the issues from such individuals' psychological needs, we need to treat them as humans first and primarily.

I agree with you but does that mean you or chris would actually 'kill' the woman?

I think not because at some point she would have that same pitiable suffering look on her face as the kitten she had tortured. I always find it interesting when people go around talking about killing, especailly as a response to killing.

And Asguard it may be cruel but I consider the life of children more important than that of kittens and even yet I would not advocate killing a paedophile. Life in prisonment yes, killing no.

to me killing something because it tastes good and killing cos watching it feels good are the same thing. torturing the animal is wrong imo.

Yeah but the animals were clearly tortured to death which I think is the point of the video.

Well snuff-films have been around for a long time anyway so i doubt if animal-snuffs will add any more to that. This is a very small market guys. Most people are not interested in snuff films.

Nope. I don't give much thought to Norsefire to be honest. If it were Tiassa or madant's point I was countering.. I would..

So, in the interests of self improvement.. What am I missing ?
