Trying think of examples, but knowledge of her isn't that great.

    Yuck!
Horrible film - who wants to watch a film about kids that are half-Yorkshire?

I knew I could rely on you.

Would that be why it's called a "name" then, do you think?

    How apposite!
Does your family have a history of prescience?

    I concur.

    Well of course.

    Lots of people try that.
    As I walk past...

She killed Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice. Was nightmarish.

    I don't mind it.

She was pretty good in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Well my county has a natural antipathy toward Yorkshire men...
Half Yorkshire (English) and half Austrian!!
No wonder one of 'em grew up to be Spider Man

    Ah, ma cherie, ci douce...

    Hmmm.
    NO!!
    Being good.
    Really.

    That's ridiculous.
A pint is either bitter or it's light.
Or mild, or stout or lager...

We all have our cross to bear.
    Not "bare" BTW.

Because her role demanded that she be over the top. It suited her. Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice is not meant to be as over the top. I guess in that sense, she might be able to pull off Eliza.

Akin to the "natural antipathy" that you have towards Aussies?

You were saying... Innocent is your middle name?

You are comparing me to what you down at the local? For shame!

Had you said a matured and well rounded red, then yes, maybe. But a pint? I am shocked. Shocked, I say!

    Bare works better.

    Loons?

That would make it somewhat on topic since Cher is a loon.

    Ha!

Oh dear me no, Aussies come under the category of "tolerable"

    Exactly.
Which is why I didn't go there.
I didn't know where to go.

Light and bitter are pint types here.
    You yourself, however.
Hmm did you see my contribution to "I Like my women..." thread.
    Guinness, my sweet

I should think it'd depend on the size of the bill.
For $20 dollars I'll let you tap me lightly on the forehead, for $1000 you can slap me.

    "perv"?
I don't know where your mind is, but I was thinking simply of you joining us in hijacking the thread.
My, your mind must be a gutter.

I guess by tomorrow I won't be capable of remembering all of this.

I would point out the map. But it is rude to point.

I am not even going to touch that one Oli.

    I might blush.

I would have said have a pint of Guinness on me, but I don't think that would be appropriate at the moment.

    I'm counting on it.
Then tomorrow you'll say "Oh, I must get back on Sci again, and see how that devastatingly charming Englishman is doing".

    Hmmm, no comment.

    A blush is quite appealing...

And impracticable, it's 4 am here: everywhere's closed.

And STILL no one took the bait and asked about the half-Yorkshire children.
Pfft how will I get to display the breadth of my knowledge?

    I'll bite.

    Well nibble really.

    What about the half-Yorkshire children?

    Dazzle me!

    Maybe.

If I can remember about Sci in the first place.

    A first?

Not when you have olive skin.

You'll be able to astound all of your friends with this.

Once upon a time there was a Yorkshireman by the name of Whitehead.
He was an inventor, and pretty good at it.
He designed and developed the first practical torpedo in the world, torpedoes up until that time having been explosive charges fitted to long poles. His was self-propelled and could be launched at targets from a safe distance, with no risk to the carrying vessel.

But the (British) Admiralty declared that it was an ungentlemanly weapon and they desired no part in it, and refused to fund him, so he moved to Fiume in Italy and set up up his own business.
The business took off and gained many customers, one of whom was Austria.
A lieutenant (from memory) called von Trapp was the part of the Austrian assessment and purchasing commission and therefore was regular visitor to Whitehead's factory.
Over the course of his numerous visits he grew to know the office secretary very well, they fell in love and got married.
She was Whitehead's daughter - a Yorkshire woman.
They had many children (I never bothered keeping track in the film) and then she died (disease IIRC).
von trapp hired a nanny to look after the children and they had many adventures which Hollywood turned into a film...
But the children were half Yorkshire and half Austrian.

    How could you forget?

    Very nearly.

Perspective, beauty is the eye of the beholder...

    My one failing

    True.

Hmmmm.. Now I am curious as to what was the first.

Sometimes a "no comment" is just as effective as an actual comment...

    Maybe?
    You doubt me?

But not everyone has your delectable outlook on life, my sweet.

    I will definitely try that!

Indeed. I should have stuck with "no comment" when I read your, ermm, Guinness comparison.

Never. I doubt me. And last I checked, you are not me.

I adds to your personal enjoyment of the film, I find.

    Live and learn...

Yeah, but how thoroughly did you check?
I can be quite subtle sometimes...

    Because you're too modest.
So I had to state the obvious.
