Why do some members here consistently space their sentences ?
Is it because of aesthetics, clarity, or something else ?
    I just wondered

I'll do that to separate paragraphs or differing blocks of ideas for aesthetic purposes.

Also, it's much easier to read multiple blocks of text than one large block of text.

Yes, I do that as well. But some members space every single sentence, regardless of paragraphs.
I hope Bishadi won't mind, but here's an example of his writing style (from "happy birthday Darwin!"):

First two results of one_raven. I remember he did his WhoAmI? post in this style and everyone immediately knew it was him.

Ah ok, but it's not quite the same as what Bishadi does though. At least One_raven makes paragraphs.

I try to use the correct syntax, however I've been befouled by various faults from repetitive uses of various words which is pretty common to me too absolutely abhorrent punctuation. (My spelling is enhanced by a spell check which battles between it's US English default and my own British Origin.)

Sometimes my sentence structures are littered by inaccurate punctuation and seemingly roll out tens of words at a time. I'm sure people have noticed my use of "Bunny Rabbit Ears" (cute terming) for emphasising words and I've even had it pointed out that I tend to Capitalise what I see as important (at least subliminally)

There is then the wonderful use of various brackets to that I use to try and place internal tangents away from the stream of the normal text. Mainly this backfires somewhat and the overall effect is a tangled mess that makes most programmers judder in fear, as they wonder were about's my verbose structuring is going and whether I'm stuck in some literary "Loop".

I know that perhaps the forums should have a Stickied thread identifying both the Harvard System for Quotation/Referencing, But I definitely suggest we need at least something from Oxford on Grammar and Punctuation (If only for my own need

    )

Incidentally, depending on what sizes resolution of screen and what size letters your browser uses for default, effects how the the sentences are formatted. Sometimes one sentence with severe punctuation can be a paragraph on it's own (Even if it's syntactically incorrect)

A lot of Bishadi's writings are practically unintelligible - just he must be himself. In fact, when reading his awkward, jerky, incomplete and often incoherent sentences, I picture the neurons in his brains randomly firing and misfiring - just like a V-8 engine would do with it's plug-wires all crossed up.

You mentioned paragraphs - Bishadi could NOT form a single paragraph if it would win the lottery for him!!!!:bugeye:

Your posts are always very comprehensible, they look more than fine to me. Of course this comes from someone that isn't particularly good at punctuation himself

I have a few quirks myself, but I consciously keep them.
    For instance:
    - I use smilies as a full stop.
    - I put a space between the last word of the sentence and an exclamation mark or a question mark.
    - I frequently use ellipses with two points while there should be three. I use that too frequently even though I try to pay attention to not doing that too much.

Also, I just don't remember certain grammar rules. For instance, I think the full stops in the list above should be either commas or semicolons..

Your idea about having a grammar sticky is great. This will definitely improve my own writing style

The great thing called optimism in this world, exists for us to embrace and honor each other with. In our greatest sympathies and wishes our desires should be geared to helping one another in our daily life. So when one faces a challenging task, we are here to help them and so help prove that we ourselves are good individuals and kind. Bishadi cannot write a paragraph properly? Lets help him by telling how important it is to write a paragraph and what parts of the thought in written word need to be separated into paragraph. Let us make him feel good about himself and make it our priority to help him.

Periods and semicolons can always replace each other; one is just better suited for the specific job

Sometimes I put spaces in between mine as well. If I have allot to say, I think to me, it is easier to write and to read .

I couldn't find anything in my wife's copy of the "St Martin's handbook" that gives information on spacing between individual sentences (excluding dialogue between two characters in a story). What is does say is this:

It also mentions that the standard length has changed over the years due to the width of the margins. Perhaps there's something to with width of the textbox control used on this message board that prompts people to habitually write in a stacked column shape. Maybe they are further breaking it into short segments with blank lines......but I'm just tossing out a wild guess.

    there's also something called naivety.

    And also a saying:
