Dam, good taste in guns String, as for me my favorite is a Browning High Power in .40 S&W,Packmyr grip, and a Teflon black finish slide, Armaloy lower, and internal parts, this is a self lubricating finish, and reduced the trigger pull to 4lb. just were I like it in a Pistol.

I carried a gun like this for the last 8 years on the job, and still carry it today.

    In my Humble Opinion the three best hand guns for self defense are the;

1911 Colt, and it isn't a double action it is a single action, recoil operated semi automatic,
8 round capacity, 230 gr. bullit at 850fp/s. 430ft. lb.

The P-35 High Power, single action, recoil operated semi automatic, in 9mm it is a 13 shot, 124gr bullit, at 1100 fp/s.

and my preference in the High Power is the .40 S&W, which has a 11 round capacity, 165gr, bullit at 1,150 ft/s (350 m/s)
    484 ft·lbf (656 J)

The 1873, Colt revolver, in one of the fighting calibers, 38-40, 44-40, 45 Colt.

    My preference is in the .45 Colt, 255 gr (16.5 g) Lead SWC 961 ft/s (293 m/s) 523 ft·lbf (709 J )

I never fell under armed carrying this in my belt.

The actual combat rang hand guns are intended for it 50 yards, and if you can't keep all of your rounds in a 10 inch circle at 50, your a dammed poor shot.

But for actual defense use, to be legal 7 yards is the standard, if he is with in 7 yards and armed and showing aggression, he is a danger to you, and your life.

The .44 mag. and bigger, are hunting pistols, they have far to much recoil to be effective defense guns, and the juries will look askance at you for using one.

To effectively use guns of this power, you need to be a experienced shooter, and use to recoil.

The grip on a Desert Eagle is like trying to hold on to a 2x4, and you need a big hand to grip it.

I'd say the best handgun ever made is a switch.
    A switch that launches nukes.

P.S. do you get a little thrill when you lovingly caress your favourite gun?
Does it make you feel like a real man, or do you have to go and masturbate to check the equipment?

Think Obama cant take your guns away from you because of the 2nd amendment?

Consider this: The constitution states that ONLY gold and silver can be tender for payment of all debts...and yet during the 1930s gold was confiscated from citizens by the ruling government.

The following video describes how a complacent gun owning citizenry in Australia and Britain were turned into criminals overnight by their own elected representatives:

Obama has learned an important lesson from the recent heist of taxpayers dollars to fund the lifestyles of the wealthy on wall street. Now he knows the current generation isnt made of the same stuff as the founding nations...the rugged pioneer fighting spirit is gone forever.

You WILL lie down and OBEY, as the transition to a soviet state unfolds and enslaves.

Oh Pluuueeeezzzzzzzzz, can't you come up with something a little bit more original.

The best hand gun is the one you have when you need it.

I think the Sig Saur (?) 10 mm pistol is one of the best around. At is accurate, balanced, and the firing is smooth as silk...Whatever gets hit is going down..

I didn't know that Sig Sauer made a 10mm, which series is it?

I know about their latest issue the .357 Sig. in the 229 series.

Sig Pistols are like Swiss watches, absolutely reliable.

Colt 45 Government Model, Series 70, cocked and locked,
with Federal Premium Personal Defense Hydra-Shok cartridges.

This is a pleasure to take to the range and run through 50 target range rounds.

I save the Hydra-Shoks for uninvited visitors in the home.

Out standing Cousin, and I like the diet your feeding him.

Can't go wrong with hydro shocks.

    Like those diamond grip pannels.

Did you change the sights? Look like Millets.

Thank you friend. The grips and sights are upgrades. I inherited this baby a few years back and out of respect I treat it lovingly by putting fifty rounds through it every month or so.

I have finger groved Pachmyre grips, with gold Colt Medalions, Millet sites milled into the slide, extended slide realease, ambi safety, Colt Blue slide, captive spring guide rod, and Armoly reciever.

But my carry gun is still my Browning High Power in .40 S&W, Three dot Tritium sight, finger groved Pachmyre grips, and black teflon finish, ambi safety, it has never hickuped on me in 8 years.

It has killed every thing from bad dogs, to a Deer, that was hit by a car, and had three broken legs, one shot.

And won me top gun 3 years in a row, at the yearly quals at work.

    Federal Hydra shocks.

I'm guessing you loved the line from the movie Ironman where stark says the say the best weapon is the one you never have to fire but I prefer the one that you only have to fire once. Thats how dad did it. thats how america does it and its worked out pretty good so far.

Didn't see I.M. but sounds logical to me.

But it still is the weapon you have, when in need, that is the best weapon, as it is what you have, so make the most of it.

That is why familiarity with multiple weapons and types of weapons is the best way to go.

I have zero experience with guns, so I can't say anything about performance, but these look cool.

The Webley Fosbery 1837 automatic revolver was used by Sean Connery in the movie Zardoz. Interesting fact: the blanks they had to use wouldn't operate the semi-auto function, so there was some editing involved.

My carry piece is a Beretta .380.

But I prefer shooting my .357 with a six inch barrel. It's just too big for concealed carry.

    I do want to get a Browning Hi-Power 9mm

Waste of ammunition. You don't need to spray 30 rounds all over the place. Just put the one round where it belongs. And you can't do that with a Mac11 pos.
