sweeeet! They just built one in town. Guess where I'm going this weekend. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Dinner started with soup. If they have the spicy sausage & lentil soup GET IT! I have been craving it ever since. The boyfriend and I are actually heading down there to get a tub today. My aunt had their stuffed cannelloni, which was also amazing, my cousin had what I had, and my boyfriend had fetuccini alfredo (which was NOT good, but I tried to warn him). Their bread and garlic olive oil for dipping was pretty damned good. We washed it down with a bottle of wine (which I hated; I'm white trash and don't like anything red), so I ended up guzzling a few Miller Lites. I hear that their desserts are just super-duper too, but we were so stuffed soup, bread and dinner that there was no room left. The bill for four people came to $96, which I thought was very good considering: (a) how good the food was and (b) how much we got. The service was also excellent so we left her a 20-spot (I'm a former bar tender & restaurant manager and am morally obligated to over-tip). Happy eating! ~String
I can just imagine how many calories are on that plate Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! (even though it looks tasty) I would eat everything minus the fries and onion rings, well maybe 1 or 2 onion rings that's it. I think Absane is looking for a healthier route then deep fried onion rings and french fries. Do they think by adding that bit of peas, tomatoes and mushrooms it appears more healthy?
They are way better off with peanut butter and jelly. Hell, they'd even be better off with two pieces of enriched white bread. Ramen Noodle soup is high in carbohydrates and extremely low in vitamins and minerals, almost zero protein and no iron. It is also very high in sodium, and can contain monosodium glutimate in high doses that is unsafe. Ramen noodles is about the worst thing you can do for your children.
With the beer, we are looking at 2,000 calories. That would be me done for the day unfortunately. If you were a hill farming shepherd, you could probably have this for dinner every day. I wish I were a Hill farming Shepherd, apart from the hills and the farming and the sheep. I'd love to eat this every day. With Pudding. Only eating two onion rings is not a great sacrifice, seeing as there are only two onion rings. The salad is usually left on the plate. No-one wants to look greedy do they?
At least my kids won't get salmonella from the Ramen. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! My kids eat healthy, but I'm not a Nazi about it. No one in our house eats PB&J.
Because it tastes gross. I wouldn't even eat it as a kid. My husband wouldn't eat it either. Therefore the kids never grew up eating it.
yep. I do not now, nor have I ever liked jelly, jams, or preserves. About the only one I ever came close to liking was my Grandma's tomato jelly on english muffins.
tomato jelly? sounds horrible. the only thing i dont like are the seeds that some jellies have, for some reason they creep me out. have you tried peanut butter and jelly on english muffins? it help to buy good peanut butter though.
The tomatos are just a base. Its really cinnamon jam. Kinda like how sweet pickles taste nothing like cucumbers. I don't like peanuts much. Its a texture thing for me. Its like eating a mush sandwich. (I don't like plain jello, pudding, mashed potatoes either)
Holy zero logic. Peanut Butter and Jelly on enriched white bread is extremely healthy and gives children a lot of the nutrients they need to grow stronger. It's brain food. Ramen, has almost no nutrients what so ever. You may as well give them hot water, you'd be doing their systems a favour. What's healthy in your mind? You could ask any pediatrician how bad ramen is for your kids.
I don't care about the health factor in a PB&J sandwich. No one eats them in my family. They taste barfilicious. I don't care how bad Ramen noodles are for them. Eating some because I made catfish for supper isn't gonna kill them. In fact, its not gonna hurt them even an itty bitty bit. Sometimes its nice to eat something that tastes good and is bad for you.
You should have just stopped at "I don't care..." which is the clearest of your statements. The others lack any sense other than unsupported bullshit. You think it tastes like crap, so you've never served it to your kids who may think it's wonderful AND would be a huge health benefit over ramen noodles... yeah, that makes perfect sense. Heroin feels good too, and it might not kill you if you only do it once...
