Why are girls so irrational and illogical?

Why are there so few girls who are at least as rational and logical as I am, from my eyes? There aren't too many anyways, but girls seem to be severely lacking in the "making any sense whatsoever" category. No, some cute girl isn't giving me mixed signals, so don't postulate on why I'm asking this. Someone explain to me, maybe using actual science, how female brains differ from males, regarding rationality and logicalness.

Girls are human beings the last time I checked. Illogic and irrationality are part of our nature. Aristotle and Euclid must be taught and even then it doesn't make much difference. Look at Long Term Capital Management. A lot of good logic and math did them...

Females, from what I have gathered in my scientific studies, are worse at subjects such as physics and chem, and maths. These subjects are closely tied to rationality and logicalness, aren't they? To OilIsMastery, any sane person can realize that an atheist is more rational than a theist, but we can differ on what you may call "faith."

Not a fair test, this forum attracts scientific minds, and some from google for the pseudoscience section. The amount of posting females is nowhere near the amount of men who post. Surely that alone should allow you to conclude something. Yes, she is a woman, yes, I'm 15. I've yet to meet one female(not including the occasional competent teacher) who surpasses or meets my interests in anything related to logical things or things requiring rationality, yet have met at least 5 to 10 men who fall under this category. The "scientific studies" was meant to be taken as a joke.

 

Perhaps the women find you a bore. I find it tedious to discuss science with men, most of them are so closeminded in their thinking.

Who gives birth to men, who cleans up after men , who live longer, who hold more wealth in America, who are paid far less than they deserve, who couldn't get good paying jobs because they were supposed to stay at home and raise a family, who didn't get the right to vote until the 1920's ...women that's who. :itold:

 

Same here. Hell, I'm a female and I've just started a natural sciences degree. Must be that high androgen level Draqon et al are always on about...

@Betrayer: There are certain specific things such as rotating a 3-D object inside one's head, that women fare less well at. Other than those, no, there's no actual innate difference.

 

As the OP and anything else posted so far are clearly based on anecdotal evidence let me present a bit of it, too.

The only thing I noticed is that in a non-work situation (like e.g. while talking to my wife, who also has a PhD) women tend to be less anal about (possibly unimportant) details (especially semantic ones).
That changes a lot in work situation like e.g. during teaching students, mentoring PhD students, or during discussions with colleagues, though. Same I found among the PhD students I am mentoring (of which in recent times there are more females then males, btw.).

 

I don't know about logical cognitive ability, but the Bell Curve theory states two things about female intelligence in general.
The majority of the most intelligent individuals in society are male. The majority of the least intelligent individuals in society are male. The female majority seems to occupy the 'middle ground' along with, of course, a slightly smaller number of men.
However, does this prove that one gender is more intelligent than the other? Or simply that the distribution of intelligence differs slightly? Despite the findings of the research, there are still exceptionally bright and exceptionally stupid women.

Although, other studies have shown girls to out-perform boys within school.

As for the anecdotal evidence presented in this thread, most of it is completely unreliable. As I've said before: if a man is a fool it's because he's stupid; if a woman is a fool it's because she has a vagina.

 

You have to remember that women think with their heart and their hips.

A man's center of gravity is much higher.

 

Schools are terrible tests at trying to find people who are smart. Too, too, many outside variables. You should know this, Cellar_Door.

 

Why are humans so irrational and illogical? If there's any difference in intelligence & logic between genders, it's quite insignificant. It's like discussing why Group A people can only lift 99.999 lbs while Group B people can lift 100 lbs. If humans had much intelligence & logic, Earth would be a paradise compared to what it is now. Nearly everyone thinks they're logical, including the obviously least logical. The girls BOH knows could probably present just as good a case for him not being logical. Males demonstrate lack of logic very well & seem enormously proud of it.
