I certainly see Olmert's point, though part of the complication is that many Palestinians believe that the "evil wind" blows from the Israeli side of the border fence and might well refer Mr. Olmert to the longstanding principle of international relations "He who smelt it, dealt it." That said, all sides must recognize the small enclosed borders of the region will continue to create a veritable "Dutch oven of radical Islam" for years to come.
I think that if you blow up a bomb around another person because they disagree with the removal of citizens from their homes...you're a terrorist.
What if you launch an air-to-surface hellfire missile at a car on a crowded street? If you're an Israeli, you're "legitimately defending' Israel's right to, "legitimately defend" itself. If you aren't an Israeli, you're a terrorist.
??? I stated that it was most likely Ex IDF people upset about the dividing of Israeli territories... I disagree with Professor Zeev Sternhell, but I don't want him dead!
Camilus, you're now on block. Roman, you either didn't read what I said...or you didn't read the article. You're now on block. === In case neither of you actually read the article. It was about a Jewish Israeli who won an award, and spoke about how Israel should give up the west bank. Some person (Assumed Israeli) put a pipe bomb near him in attempts to kill him, they failed. Then I said that I felt the person who put the pipe bomb near him was most likely Israeli, and I indicated that he was wrong to do so. What's wrong with you guys? If anything that's borderline pro-PLO!
well of course it is wrong to try and kill someone cheski..... Shit you dont need to be fuckin einstein to work that one out!! anyway what the fuck has that got to do with being "border line pro-PLO"
deosnt this guy want peace?????????????????? surely peace would benefit israel, rather than being in a constant state of war and subsequently on a permanent war footing which as you know is a vast drain on critical resources!!
ok so does he want peace or not??? and is peace good for israel??? as for your comment if that is true then so much for America and its "freedoms"
Things aren't that simple. Everyone wants peace for Israel, the differences are the ways to go about achieving it. Historically giving up land has done nothing more than instill pride amongst the PLO success, which traditionally wants the entire destruction of Israel...not a homeland. This pride has led to wars, countless kidnappings, and lots of death. He believes that the original moral justification for Israels existence entirely hinged on the threat of holocaust. That this threat today has been alleviated, thus the state should disappear entirely. He's actively involved in the destruction of the very government that is providing him security, and he's openly active. This; amongst many factors has made him a real inconvenience to Jewish nationalists (Which annotates people born in Israel Post-Zionism). To them, he's taking away the home they were born in...so he's no different to them than the PLO...which also wants to take the home they were born in. Since historically when Israel gives land to either Egypt...or the PLO...or anyone. The first action taken by the new country is Expulsion of the Jews living there. Conversely, after wars when Israel acquires a land..it allows its residents to remain. Thus the disestablishment of the only local entity providing peace obviously brings fear to the local Jews. Therefore in the eyes of many people; killing this man would be equivalent to saving there own children's lives. I'm hesitant in posting this; as undoubtedly people will respond with more anti-Israel, anti-Zionist treyf. Blindly showing support for this man...and insulting me as an evil man. The situation is one of irony.
