In V for Vendetta, doesn't it occur to you that V is indeed a terrorist? He uses terror to make political statements. I don't blame the Norsefire government for attempting to stop him, before he harmed innocent people. I don't agree with everything they did (for instance, how they got into power, and their lack of consideration, and the genocides), but I don't blame them for attempting to stop the terrorist V.
One person's terrorist is anoth one's freedom fighter... In the movie The Patriot, the Mel Gibson character is terrorizing the British...
But looking at it from V's perspective he saw the government as the real problem and only wanted to change it from its destructive ways.
Destructive? The Britain of the V for Vendetta universe was in superb condition, from what I observed, there was technological advancement, it seems they had a good economy, and a strong social cohesion. They did do bad things, no doubt about that, but they did good things as well.
Yes, I know, and I am entirely opposed to their genocide. I believe government should be the ultimate aid and voice of the people, not the opressor. So I don't agree with that. However V was a terrorist.
One mans terrorist another mans freedom fighter. The film exemplified for me, what attracts people to terrorism, and what causes people to be terrorists. "What was done to me created me". Sometimes, You just have no fucking choice. Personally or Politically
And the state used terror to defend their policies. Annyway I believe that V is a character that you have to see in context with his world (a bid like badman how silly wouldn't they be without their fasist england or gotham). V is basicly created through it's goverments and mirrors it in many way. It's witty and smart and somewhat relevant with the current war on terrorism and basicly the whole world is leaning a bith more to the right then it should be
