I'm loving chrome. The only issues I have is that occasionally it slows down.

How's the functionality? How does it compare to IE? Does it also have a yellow bar that appears on top all the time like IE? Does it display all the pages correctly?

I'm using IE. For some reason, I can't display this page: http://www.dailyfx.com/charts/Chart.html

They fixed the EULA to read that you retain the rights to anything you upload through Chrome. I think they just copy-pasted it from one of their other services and only now went through and actually changed it to fit Chrome.

    Installed, used and uninstalled.

Wasn't bad but nothing significant over Opera and Safari.

Looks the same as Opera, but sooo much faster. In a few years, this will easily be top dog, right now it's just there's so little plug-ins to use and add-ons.

Chrome appears to have actual advantages over the standard IE vs Firefox fare...the separate tab processes being a huge one.

I did notice some buggy handling of media, but I think Chrome is off to a good start.

Google Chrome appears to be nothing more than a frontend for IE. I don't think it is an independant browser capable of operating if IE was absent. Just my thoughts..

I am using google chrome right now. I like the way it displays the thumbnails of
all my most visited sites. The spell checker as well.

The German government warned its citizens not to use the Chrome because of privacy issues...

Google Chrome is spyware. If you are able to watch traffic on a network, particularly what is LEAVING your network to 'phone home' to Google. Chrome is scary stuff.

The 'Omnibar' is a keylogger(software that tracks the keys on your keyboard you depress) it correlates that info with your IP address and sends it off to Google.

Chrome is spyware. But so many people are ignorant, and Google is so well known, most people will use it anyway. They will have some abstract idea of "that can't be true" or something.

Ignorance and denial s the American way.

I am too lazy, it was on Digg this morning. basicly if you use google mail/search/browser, the company knows pretty much everything about you, your communication, what websites you visit, what is your interest, etc.

probably even your bankaccount and passwords...

Google has been STRONG advocates for privacy, they have even withheld personal information on people even when SUBPOENAED. I know they have been gathering a lot of data for results on how Google Chrome has been working, could this possibly be the reason why all these claims have come up? And btw, Google is being forced to send the information, but they're working on making it anonymous, so that whoever is asking for the information(definitely NOT an average joe) will only receive the searches, not who sent them.

So if you are using googlemail, your contacts and messages can also, potentially, be mined. Yes, that would be very useful commercially, and should be legislated on, not simply left to Google's good will.

On another point, I have had a problem with my laptop overheating, which has improved since I emptied the chrome history. You have to empty it day by day, which is a bind.

    Early days I suppose.
