I can't stand listening to her either. She comes across as arrogant to me and that is what bothers me. I have gotten used to George II bastardizing the language for the last eight plus years and inventing his own words. So she is following in a long standing Republican tradition.

You will never sound pedantic, because you do not have enough intellectual horse power to be pedantic. So don't let it trouble you Raven.

Oh dear lord.. (no pun intended)..

    :bugeye:

Her current church also believes that you can "pray away the gay" and will be holding a conference to cure homosexuals of their homosexuality with prayers.

    Scary.

im slightly hesitent to take someones religion as proof of there policy belifes because a) just because they belive something doesnt nessarly mean they will force it on other people and b) as someone from a catholic family i know how disconected the doctran can be from what people actually belive.

most catholics in australia at least were really pissed off that they didnt get a pope who encoraged contraception for an example

Although the video of this link does show Sarha supporting “earmarks” (She is shown - hear her talk in favor of taking the federal money and her opponent clearly stating it was not good for the country -that this was a waste of money, etc.) this taking of federal money is very common practice, some times even a necessity if you want to get more in the next year’s Federal budget.

    For a personal example:

While a graduate student my thesis adviser called me in one day and told me to find something we can buy and might need, which cost about $10,000. He said: “The budget office report I just got shows we will have at least that much unspent of the Navy's grant when it ends next month. If we do not spend it all they will cut the grant next year.” As one working for a Ph.D. is the last legal form of slavery in the US, I did as my "master" told me to.

We were in fact having some minor electrical noise pick up problems in oscilloscopes when we dumped fast high-voltage capacitors to make plasmas, so I bought a screen room to electrically shield the oscilloscopes.* That was a good choice as screen rooms come in modular sections and I designed one that cost less than $100 more than the $10,000 I was told to spend.

It arrived a few months later and we stored it in a small room we controlled in the basement. Many years later, long after I had my Ph.D., I returned to JHU and out of curiosity I went down to look at what was now in that small storage room. - I bet you can guess what was still there in the original packages about 15 years later.

I do not fault Sarah for taking for Alaska all she can get - but this God fearing Christian should at least not lie about it to the voters.
Did we not impeach Nixon for doing exactly that?
    --------------------
*Rather than go to the trouble of setting up the screen room (and knowing that it gets hot as hell inside one) I made the entire discharge path co-axial and that not onlycompletely completely cured the noise pickup problem but surprizingly made the plasma very much more reproducable one shot to the next. So reproducable that the oscilloscope traces recorded on polariod film actually essentially fell on top of each other when I got confused and made a double exposures with two different shots. (An air gap, tiggered by a small spark, caused the capacitor to discharge. When that air arc formed, it did not take exactly the same geometry on each shot until it was stabalized by the co-axial return current path surrounding it is why, I think, the reproducability improved so much.)

You're being ridiculous. Her church doesn't sound so wierd to me. At least it's not a black seperatist, marxist inspired, anti-American church.

    Check this out!

Closer examination suggests you're stuck with "black"

Black separatist? Let's go with black for now. More on that in a moment.

Marxist inspired? Do recall that the popular Communist motto, "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs", predates the 1840 origin of this particular form. I noted it just the other day in a post to one of your conservative counterparts; it looks rather quite like Acts 4.32-35.

Anti-American? This is why I wanted you to hold off on the separatist bit. Because separatism sort of goes hand in hand with anti-Americanism, don't you think? Perhaps reciprocity isn't complete, but still. Let's try a quote:

And if Zephaniah were here today he’d be saying, ‘Listen, He is gonna deal with all the inhabitants of the earth. He is gonna strike out His hand against ... the United States of America. There’s no exceptions here—there’s none. It’s all.’

Indeed, God's mad at America. Of course, you'll notice I put an ellipsis in there. And it's not so much to hide extraneous information as it is to conceal relevant information.

After all, what "anti-American" preacher could say such a thing?

    Let's try that quote again:

And if Zephaniah were here today he’d be saying, ‘Listen, He is gonna deal with all the inhabitants of the earth. He is gonna strike out His hand against, yes, Wasilla; and Alaska; and the United States of America. There’s no exceptions here—there’s none. It’s all.’

What, is Reverend Wright on a speaking tour in Alaska? Hardly.

Max Blumenthal explains over at The Huffington Post:

Kroon's church offers a transcript of the sermon in .doc format; Blumenthal offers a playback of the audio.

Sarah Palin's pastor apparently believes that God has but wrath in store for America. Of course, maybe if we all believe what Pastor Kroon tells us, God will show mercy unto us.

Why would God be angry at America? Because we're the greatest nation in the world and (insert jingoistic bullshit here)? Or because we're wicked?

And to think, Governor Palin sought this church out. Of course, it's a mostly white church where the Republcan VP nominee worships, so it can't possibly be anti-American, right?

In other words, black is probably about the last thing you have to worry about. Separatist? (A commenter at Marc Ambinder's blog asserts, "Rev. Wright is not a separatist black nationalist! Making stupid comments does not make you a black nationalist. He has never called for black people in America to separate themselves from society." Anti-American? Well, let's see: Democrats 1, Republicans ... um, let's see here ... Kroon, Falwell, Robertson, Hagee ... okay, we can stop at four, for now. And, just so there's no mistake, this is one of those where you're doing better if your score is lower. And, hell, let's also remember that Wright was upset about discrimination. Falwell, Robertson, Hagee, at least, are (or were, in the case of the late Rev. Jerry) upset about America's failure to discriminate harshly enough against the people they don't like.

And as for the Marxist thing? Christians in America might profit in the eternal currency most valuable to them if they get back to their roots, which happen on occasion to sound at least a smidge Marxist.

Seems we're left with that whole black thing. Rather than pretending to be shocked, can I at least ask you to give it some thought?

I have already pointed out in post 677 that is the "fake doll," (Doll is not carrying a Bible.) but I have been studying what it is this doll has her left hand on. It seem to be a money pouch, strapped to her black garter. I guess that is where the "earmark funds" are to be placed. Does she come with some small $10,000 dollar bills that will fit? What do you think? Or do you pay extra for them? She sure is fun.
