ive been told that many think quantum mechanics will prevent ctc's from ever forming? what other arguments are used against ctc's?

 

It admits them, in the sense, they ''should be.'' But there is no evidence as of yet.

Oh I'm sure it's possible... well maybe not PHYSICALLY possible but THEORETICALLY i'm sure it is, based on what little I know about the universe I suppose if you traveled fast enough (faster then C) you could potentially move faster then time... or I'm a nutjob; either works

Well I have alot of theories.... Tesla said space can't have properties because it's the absence of matter. Modern science proves light bends and space-time can be manipulated using mass. So....

And they'll be happy to fill you in, just read. I myself think space-time might not even be real, perhaps space lacks properties and such as Tesla said, perhaps not. I do say studying current theories won't make anyones idea of this true or not.

well, i know godel's & kerr's metric have closed timelike curve's,if they the universe didnt have ctc's at all would it effect relativity?

Kip Thorne's Black Holes and Time Warps gives a good semi-technical discussion of ctc's.

I think that "are they real" is the wrong question at this time... "Can they exist" might be a better one, with "Can they form" as a sideliner.

 

Of course time travel is possible! Haven't you ever seen the TV series the "Time Tunnel"? Or read the book" The Time Machine " by H G Wells? As long as there's science fiction writers there's always going to be time travel.

It's theoretically possible if you can exceed the speed of light; however, matter cannot do this because it requires an infinite (?) amount of energy, and THAT is impossible.
