How does it matter? Does it make it better with less zeros?

Well, when you change $10,000,000,000 to $1 it's certainly news worthy. Imagine you had $10,000,000,000 in the bank and woke up tommorow to find it was now worth $1.

And I wouldn't laugh too hard about this situation. The way the dollar's falling, especially considering that everything the US government does seems to only make the situation worse, we could end up in the same boat.

On the plus side, it would sure make that national debt easy to pay off.

Save some gold. When we have hyperinflation in 3 years, sell the gold and pay off your mortgage and car.

Hey orly, you ever try to add 10,000,000,000 (the price of a loaf of bread) on your pocket calculator to 100,000,000,000 (the price of 10 loafs of bread)? Keeping track of those zeros is time consuming. And then, there's the problem with most calculators only being able to handle 9 digits, and ten billion has 11 digits. *hopes he counted right*

Taking zeros off your currency doesn't really affect the value of the currency.

    No kidding.
