Ask any one month old pregnant woman if she thinks she is not carrying a baby.

Have you ever seen a first trimester aborted fetus?

I have provided a link because people who do not think that is a baby are offended by the picture.

Would it make a difference if you thought of the embryo/fetus as a baby? I think that's where the pro choice camp seems hypocritical. I mean if you want to abort the baby then you want to abort the baby, pretending its simply an unformed blob doesn't change the fact that you are interferring with the development of a baby.

Sam the woman who wants the baby thinks of it as her warm cuddly living miracle and the woman who doesn't thinks of it as a life changing parasite.

It's a wrong use of the word, and not appropriate in a discussion such as this.

Why is it ok to kill off animals in much more gruesome ways ?

Exactly. If you are aborting a baby, that is your decision. Don't pretend you are zapping a wart.

The picture doesn't offend. What I find offensive is an overpopulated world where children are not properly cared for but now we're off topic it seems. Kill the unwanted, kill the pervs and let global warming take care of the rest.

Yes, its a common tactic called dehumanization, makes it easier to kill someone.

You have to pretty well fed and comfortable to think that far. The law of diminishing returns only works when you are reaching satiation.

Either way the world will become overpopulated. Or at least what we view as being overpopulated because too many countries do not allow abortion at all and the people do not agree with it anyway. By now this is fairly obvious.

Saw a news clip where like over 40% of sexually active teens in New York (you can get condoms on every street, just walk into a store and buy one) dont use condoms. And they are getting all the diseases associated with that and obviously getting pregnant.

See I come at this issue from a Christian perspective.

If you kill a fetus it is a baby and it will go to Heaven and be happy for all eternity. Forever. So whatever short term suffering it goes through during the abortion is nothing compared to being happy forever. So I have no problem with abortions.

However if you kill a person who has sinned you may be cutting off a chance for this person to repent and thereby send them to hell for all time. It is clear in Christian teachings that it is never to late to repent and that Jesus and God hope that everyone will repent their sins. Therefore the death penalty is potentially disappointing Jesus and God, since one has not given the murderer all the possible time God has given him to live to repent.

I see no reason to get in the way of God's choice for his or her death time and saying now is better.

To kill as sinner is a sin.
To kill an innocent baby is neutral. That baby skips this disgusting immoral world of sin and gets to go immediately to his or her loving father.

    Who say it is ok?

It's not ok, at least not according to my belief (Islam).
There is this famous story about a cat came and slept on the lap of Prophet
Muhammad while he was reading the Quran to the listeners. When it was time
for the Prophet to get up, instead of waking up the cat, he cut the piece of his
robe where it slept and stood up.

And yet, no one is making the comparison.
Animals FEEL it when you kill them in gruesome ways. Embryos aren't even conscious.
SAM kills rats for a living. Assuming she does it in a way that don't hurt the rats there is no difference between killing an unconscious rat and an embryo.

It is wrong to not properly care the children, but killing them or taking away their
right to be born isn't right either. Unlike other animals, human are equipped with
better brain and hence the capacity to work and raise their children properly.

So if I can make somebody unconscious, is it ok to kill him? :bugeye:

    What does not make sense?

I assume that by raising properly is by equipping them
with proper education, proper health care, etc.
