I think the OP thinks that carbon containing molecules are not biological...which is entirely different issue altogether. It is important to realize that CO2 is not biological...yet many carbon containing molecules are part of biological complex structures. The term biological pertains to life...or something that is alive...and drawing a line where something is alive is a bit tough...

    You misunderstood.
It seems like he is sincere in his questions about why we smell certain compounds but not (or few) elements.
    He got the answers.
Then he says he wants answers from someone intelligent.
When I asked him what he disagreed with he starts ranting about oil, which is completely unrelated to the topic.
Apparently he can't get over something that happened in another thread.
Note that he didn't even once responded on-topic, not to me and not to anyone else either.
I suspect this thread is just a cover.

Exactly. I want an answer from someone intelligent not a vitalist who believes the periodic table of elements is biogenic.

Then consider my answers to your question in the OP.
So far you are the one coming off as mentally retarded.
Can you quote where I say that elements are biogenic ?
In this very thread I clearly said that elements are abiotic.
You of course are too caught up in your own fairy tales to even detect anything that contradicts with your retarded world view.
This in turn leads me to believe that all you want is to argue, just for the sake of it.
Even you even had some rudimentary mind you would have taken me up on my answers to your question no matter what lunacy I posted in any other thread.

Why do you think lots of compounds can be detected by humans while elements cannot ?

organic chemicals are long chains of carbon, anyone who has studied bio chem will tell you that. The carbon itself is formed in population two (or is it pop 1?) stars and then dumped when a star dies. Then the next generation forms and planets end up with an abudence of carbon, this carbon then forms the back bone of ORGANIC molicules which form animals and plants, something squishes dead animals and plants, they decompose and form oil. Your agender is WRONG and you are an idiot

    Asguard,

Just think about what your saying. Have you ever known a dead animal to produce oil? A plant? ever...

How did\do decomposed plants and animals make oil?

    In your own words.

ALL fats and oils come from plants and animals. In fact i will make you a challange, name ONE oil, fat or butter that doesnt come from an orgainic or man made souce

Seriously, do we need a retard like Oil at SciForums ?
I have seen some morons in my time here, but this one takes the cake.

Enmos rember, its always good to see what the idiots belive

John the reason i added man made oils is because surposedly some engin oils are sythetic. I honestly dont know if they are or if they use some natural oils to start there prossess. That being said all other oils come from organic sources. These can be plants (eucalypus oil, nut oils, cotton seed oil ect), animals (adipose tissue, oills in the skin, butter and cream ect), its even possable that bacteria could produce the long chains needed for an oil.

However its not possable for the planet to produce the long chains independent of some form of life. Now that being said it maybe something that we wouldnt concider to be "alive" using a biological definition but it still has to be organic. In fact tahts why we call these long chains of carbon ORGAINIC molicules.

The reason why uneducated people call carbon "organic" is because vitalist idiots like those in this thread used to think carbon is alive.

In 1828 Friedrich Wöhler synthesised urea from inorganic components. This proved organic chemistry to be astrology for retards.

Hydrocarbons. There are no human beings on Titan. Only hydrocarbon volcanoes. No biological molecule can survive on Titan.

Kindly post your biogenic nonsense in either the religion forum or the biology forum.

You are wrong on that...Titan has a hot core...there are most likely bacteria located underneath those liquid oceans of methane...or perhaps deep underneath the surface were it is warm enough.

Just take a notice of extremophiles like halophiles here on Earth.
