Now that we figured that the pictures were photoshoped, I got curious, just how big and who is the biggest bodybuilder? Will do a little research about that later on...

    Hm that was easy:

"Greg Kovacs is an IFBB professional bodybuilder from Canada. At 6'3" tall, Greg is the only bodybuilder to have ever passed the magical 400-lb* weight barrier (at a relatively lean body fat percentage). Not only is he muscularly huge, Greg also boasts some of the most impressive strength lifts in the business and adheres to one of the most intuitive styles of training around. "

*It looks like the 400+ is a myth, his competing weight was around 350+, still the biggest bodybuilder....

What about Arnold when he won over Lou Ferrigno?

Overdeveloped men and women are not aesthetically appealing at all. Under ideal conditions, the most appealing a man or women could be with muscle is that which is developed for a functional sense. That is, they are just as strong as the look. People like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Lou Ferrigno were in no way as strong as they looked. Today's bodybuilders like Jay Cutler are WAY bigger but they are just as weak as Arnold and Lou were.

I will give Arnold and Lou credit though... they did look bad ass. Who else was better to play the Terminator or the Hulk?

What could Ronnie Coleman do today? If I saw him in a movie I'd gouge my eyes out.

    Disgusting.

Steve Reeves had it almost perfect as far as looks go: http://www.millionmonkeytheater.com/moviepics/huhercules.jpg

    Then Arnold:

Now I will give these people credit. They are WAY stronger than the average person could even hope to be. Oh sure, call "steroids." True. BUT - all of the steroids in the world won't do shit for you unless you work your ass off.

Example: Here was Arnold's workout: http://www.askmen.com/sports/bodybuilding_60/69c_fitness_tip.html

    Good luck doing all that.

What do steroids do? They increase the body's ability to recover. You recover much faster and this allows you to do more work. You'll grow in size much faster and your body will put on more lean mass than the body can do per your genetics.

Most people don't even know how to pack on muscle, only fat. So even if the average person took steroids, they still would not grow.

The keys to growth? Heavy lifts, lots of sleep, adequate rest, and TONS of quality food.

Too many gym goers are doing nothing but bench and curls. Then they sleep 5 hours a night, skip breakfast, chug Starbucks, run for 10 miles during lunch, stress out during rush hour, order a large pizza with everything x5 on it, and repeat. Horrible.

Today I had 3 females repeatably rub against my buns of steel. "Accidental," of course. There were only so many times they said "sorry" before they no longer said it.

I don't look like them and I don't resent them for their handwork. At least they don't belong with this bunch:

She doesn't look manly. Harsh and ripped, sure, but still feminine, though in an eerie animalistic way.

I still wanna look like her.

Firstly train your core muscles daily, so that you have a solid foundation to build your house upon. stretching is also vital and shold be held in higher priority than just pumping iron. once you have a solid frame which is also supple then move onto body building with heavy weights, but remember it should be a gradual proggression not a quick fix to look bigger, many body builders have weak core muscles which will lead to injury later on and slow you down.

for each pound of your overall bodyweight consume 1 gram of protein daily, ie a person weighing in at 200 lbs will need to consume 200 grams of protein per day to see significant increase in stature and muscle growth. Like yourself I have a very high metabolism and it takes a hell of alot of hours at the dinner table and in the gym to bulk up, also i am reasonably tall (6.3) so that doesent help having a long frame. don't mistake size for strength though, its the quality of the tendons and both slow and fast twitch muscles that result in true power.

Eat foods such as Tuna, Turkey, Skinless Chicken, Nuts, Soy Beans, Wasabi Beans, Black Beans, Green Beans (not western soft ones). Lots of small high protein meals are better than 2-3 huge meals at intervals are better suited. buy some egg protein or whey protein powder and have one before and after workouts, your training begins the moment you wake up and consume food in the morning, not when you step into the gym, drink plenty of water as muscles are made of water and protein, and ofcourse amino acids are essential combined with the protein. Some protein does not contain amino acids to assist muscle development so read into it yourself.

IF YOU TRAIN LIKE A HORSE YOU CANT EAT LIKE A BIRD. (unless its a huge fat bird that eats alot)

PS. Oh yeah and always hit your growth reps on every set you do, if you can handle 8 eps then try to do 12 for example push your body through its limits and boyond, but dont max out completely until the couple of sets, I have been slacking so much and i have lost almost 2 stone in weight since I last posten on this forum as I have not been very motivated due to some problems in my personal life, but im back raining at full speed now.

    Peace

    Peace.

Thanks for the advice, but I wasn't really serious. I am 6'2" and 190 lbs which is pretty nice for a 40+ guy. As I said it is really hard for me to gain weight anyway, because of high metabolism.
You are right that it depends on the nutrition a lot, you have to eat a lot if you want to build muscle. I am OK with my size and type, and because of my backproblems and can't lift weights anyway...

    But thanks again...

Let's throw in some education too, here are the 3 body types:

Endomorph, Mesomorph (best for body building), Ectomorph (mine)

Endomorphy - focused on the digestive system, particularly the stomach (endoderm); has the tendency toward plumpness, corresponds to Viscerotonia temperament tolerant, love of comfort and luxury, extravert

Mesomorphy- focused on musculature and the circulatory system (mesoderm), has the tendency towards muscularity, corresponds to the Somatotonia temperament courageous, energetic, active, dynamic, assertive, aggressive, risk taker

Ectomorphy focused on the nervous system and the brain (ectoderm) - the tendency towards slightness, corresponds to Cerebrotonia temperament artistic, sensitive, apprehensive, introvert

What happens if you bulk up like Arnold and the others and then suddenly stop your workout routine cold turkey? Will all that muscle turn to fat? or will your muscles just start shrinking?
