I can't help but notice your insanely unnecessary hatred towards a video game...and the people who play them? To each his own though…..just find it comical a video game you don’t even play has your heart rate up….heh

    Unnecessary?

I tried the game a couple of times. Didn't do much for me.

I used to date a girl who played WoW. I would go to her house at 8:00 at night. She would still be in her PJs. Hadn't showered, or eaten, or pet and fed the cat yet. I would want to get randy or go for a walk or cook dinner together. She was too busy doing "an instance".
My current GFs step mom plays wow from the time she wakes up (about 7:00) until about 2 or 3 in the morning. She has no job, hasn't looked for one for months. She makes her teenage daughters and husband bring her her coffee and lunch and dinner cause she is too busy doing "an instance".
I work with chemically dependent people. She fits ALL the criteria for someone with a serious addiction. She treats her whole family like shit because this game is more important. Her kids miss her. Her husband is sexually frustrated. My GF is beyond frustrated with her, cause if anyone says anything to her about it, she belittles them and yells at them until they are in tears.
I don't hate the people who play them. I think they have a serious problem if they cut off their families and boyfriends and neglect their pets.

So, is my hatred for WoW unnecessary? I don't think so. My guess is that my X GF and my girlfriends mom aren't alone.

    Fuck WoW!

    Exactly to each his/her own.

Anyway to the original point, there was an america's army player that actually saved someone's life using triage he learned in the game. Not an MMORPG but an MMO.

Ok even I, think that's pretty fucked up. WoW is shit, I don't know how anyone could play it like that. These kind of addicts actually fuck up the games for regular players. They tend to eatup the content and push development of the game to their niche agenda.

I agree. I don't have a problem with it if its done in moderation. I think it can actually be a healthy way to wind down. Just like a glass of wine after work or a hit or two of weed is fine. But I think that WoW is geared toward extensive amounts of play with its "instances". My X would spend sometimes 6+ hours doing an "Instance". BS.

so who was the "enabler" in this instance? Surely she wasnt able to pay for living expences/internet connection/ mnthly gaming fee....by doing absolutely nothing.

There are a great deal of people who are capable of playing wow in moderation, and enjoy the game.....however because of this one instance of a lady who has an "enabler" plays way too much.....you blame the GAME!?!

cmon I know the phrase "dont hate the playa hate the game" is catchy but cmon.....

At what point do people start taking responsibility for their own actions and stop putting blame on drugs, games, entertainment, music, people on TV.......

If you really wan't to remidy the situation, if you really do CARE.....look at what is enabling her to play to such an extent.

I'll finish with what I said earlier.....to each his/her own...
