Not in your quote from your link. They are not talking about oil, they are talking about small-molecule gases, some of which they refer to as hydrocarbons, because they are.

They list the gases, and talk about them, and are quoted briefly. It's all right there in your link.
I am aware of an increasingly obvious pattern in your misrepresentations of your sources, which poor reading comprehension does not adequately explain.

The thing I find highly amusing about the article in that link is that it's almost SIX years old!

Not only that but it speaks of an upcoming meeting that was supposed to discuss the issue with the "believers" presenting their evidence. Well, said meeting took place five years ago - and it's pretty obvious that their "evidence" was considerably less than compelling since NOTHING has been heard from the proponents since!!!

IceAura: Once you learn that petroleum is a hydrocarbon we can continue this conversation.

Read-Only: The thing I find highly amusing about biogenic theory is that it's almost FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY TWO years old!

NOTHING has been heard from the proponents since Lomonosov!!!

Totally wrong (as usual). The biogenic approach has withstood the test of time and can be demonstrated in the laboratory. And it, unlike your silly idea, is heard from ALL the time since it's taught in colleges and universities all over the world every day.

The ONLY people who agree with you are fringe scientists who cannot prove even the smallest thing about the nonsense they and you promote.

    Rofl.

No scientist has EVER turned biological detritus into petroleum in the laboratory. It's impossible.

You were taught it so it must be true rofl.

Every geologist in the world who looks at the facts agrees with me.

Maybe they haven't turned what you think biological detritus is into "petroleum", but you don't need a laboratory.

What are you going to tell the guy running his tour bus here in NZ with used cooking oil (made from things like peanuts, sunflower seeds and so on). What do you think he'd say if someone told him he can't run his bus on biological fuel, it doesn't work?

Would instead you see something more like a blank stare? The sort of thing questions put to you about what you think petroleum is, or what you think biological waste or "detritus" actually is, would elicit?

You'd better get on the phone to these Spanish Dudes quick smart - tell them that you are right and science is wrong - they're sure to beleive you

ps - a little tip for you OIM - no good scientist ever describes anything as impossible, its not considered good objectivity.

With that logic, since animal body is 70% water, you can say that all the water on Earth came from the animals....and may be grapes....
