I don't understand what this "new games suck compared to old ones" is about. There's many games with good gameplay, coupled with semi-realistic graphics, what more could you want? Simple, 2d levels that only allow you to move forward, A is for punch, B is for kick?

By the way, the old zelda games feel really lame when you play them now. Maybe with the exception of the n64 zelda games.

Nah not at all. New games are good but all the great ideas all started from these early 90s and late 90s games.

I was so addicted to frontier elite2 when I was 14. I had the 1st but the sequel was amazing. Man I played it solid for a year! Never done that before with a game nor since. If only they made an up to date version, hard since elite3 Braben fall out he doesn't want to bother and always spents ages on a game so by time it comes out it's out of date. You just cant spend 4 years on a game these days. I looked forward to x3 thinkin it had promise but it fell flat on is face compared to frontier elite 2.

Super Metroid, Doom, Tomb Raider, Duke Nukem 3D. Uh, Descent, RotT and a bunch of others I can't think of at the moment.

Incidentally a lot of these are free now if you get an emulator like Dos-Box. Google search them; you might be surprised.

yeah I found elite, elite 2 and 3rd one (trash) with all kinds of improvements but it looks too trashy these days and is repetitive and shallow by todays standards. I have a few dosbox games and mame too.

Yeah, MAME32 baby. It's one of those emulators. I have about 250 of these old games, original arcade ROMs, you even have to press a button to enter a quarter! Most of them are '80s, though, not '90s.

    My favorite was Gallaga.

The great thing is, that while my kids can kick my ass at Halo 1, 2, and 3; I can still kick their asses at Gallaga.

i always liked the old games because back in the day you had to have gameplay. not like now where it seems the only thing that matters to the creaters is how pretty everything looks.
