Neither do Star Trek's. Though at least Star Wars is much more realistic. Also if you are upset with Saxton's number, tough shit. he came up with them based on observable parts of the movies. Since he is a very well respected astrophysicist, i tend to think he has the right answers. Especially when he presents evidence and calculations.

Actually everything officially labeled as EU, or T or C canon is following georges rules and therefore is part of this discussion. However even just using the movies places Star Wars in a clear path to victory.

Watch it again and watch the green glow encompassing part of the planet. Since the superlaser was fired as a beam this could not be atributed to light from the Death Star. The green glow spread very quickly but stopped just short of encompassing the whole planet. It didn;t just slow down and grinfd to a halt it stopped like a bike hitting a brick wall. This would seem to indicate a section of shielding trying to absorb the blast. Also for several microseconds despite the beam hitting the planet there was NO obvious signs. if the beam had been striking the ground from moment of first contact there should have been some visual sign, like a spreading red glow, oceans boliing inot clouds instantly, but for several microsecond everything seemed peaceful under that green glow. Taken individually they are not significant. Together, they mean something more.

So in my opinion you need your eyes checked or perhaps your brain.

Dude, I posted it long ago. Well it doesn't hurt to re-post it.

"After Star Wars was released, it became apparent that my story—however many films it took to tell—was only one of thousands that could be told about the characters who inhabit its galaxy. But these were not stories I was destined to tell. Instead they would spring from the imagination of other writers, inspired by the glimpse of a galaxy that Star Wars provided. Today it is an amazing, if unexpected, legacy of Star Wars that so many gifted writers are contributing new stories to the Saga." -George Lucas

"Part of the job of the director is to sort of keep everything in line, and I can do that in the movies—but I can't do it on the whole Star Wars universe." -George Lucas

Dude! Memory-Alpha in CANON! If you want anything Non-canon, go to Memory Beta.

But even so... Seven of Nine said that the network allows the Borg to deploy vessels anywhere (where there is an aperture in the galaxy) in minutes! Don't try to deny it! Face it!

    Thank you.

That's what I was trying to prove in one of my earlier posts.

Let’s get something straight. Centerpoint Station has the ability to crush a system at full power for total elimination, instead of the “minor” damage to collapse its core. Both Confederation and Galactic Federation of Free Alliances’ scientist said so, that is the best minds from two major galactic powers during the Confederation-Alliance War (40 ABY), but Centerpoint Station was destroyed before it did so, and it never needed to do so. Centerpoint Station was not operational around the time the Celestrials left, and it is not operational until Anakin Solo got on Centerpoint Station, then it became not operational again until the best minds in the galaxy finished inproving it, Centerpoint Station keep breaking down is not because it is not designed very well, it is because the Celestrials were peaceful people. The first known firing after the Celestrials left was at the Yuuzhan Vong War, they can’t afford for it to fire at full power because it is too close to a Galactic Federation of Free Alliances planet and the Hapan fleet (which did became a problem, because the affect radius is too big). The second firing is limited, because again too close to the Corellia Defence fleet and they didn’t change the programming that limited it. The last firing is not at full power even though they changed the program that limited its last strengh, because full power will cause more civilian then military casualties, and Sadas Koyan (Prime Minister of Five Worlds) is not an evil man nor is Teppler. And they didn’t have another chance to fire it, because it got destroyed by Doctor Seyah.

This is actually logical, and I can proof it. For example if someone said a nuclear weapon is 2 megatons, then I say a nuclear weapon is 58 megatons who is correct? Well, 2 megatons is referring to the missiles used by the Warsaw Pact during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and 58 megatons is referring to the most powerful nuke yet, which is never tested and owned by the Soviet Union. So both statements are correct, 2 megatons is an average nuke, and 58 megatons is the best nuke in the world (Yet). That’s same with mine and Cody’s explanation of Centerpoint Station.

I never explained it fully like Cody did because nobody asked for it. All Kittamaru asked for is proof my statements. For proof, I already posted it, and the book is in my locker at my school, I will be happy to post it again once I finished my book report, so sorry for any inconvenience.

    P.S.

To Kittamaru, the more you piss the worse it makes you look, and it make you look like you are losing because everyone else is calm. Please calm down, I will provide proof once I got the book from my locker at school tomorrow.

The reason he gets so pissed off is because of your childish claims, and that you never take his posts into serious conserderation before you wave it away like it was nothing.

I suppose your right, but canon goes hand in hand with kitt's post; if it contradicts the movies, it's not canon (anything after Ep. VI).

He didn't always asked for proof. I only post it when somebody ask for it. They are not claims, they are EU facts.

i tend to agree with this. i read long a go (200+pages ago) that E-E was suposed to be relatively slow for a modern ship and that they were quite far from the engagement. but as you precisly noticed they went to red alert just before going to warp. this means that they expected to engage in a very short time, from few hours to half a day, but no more. thus they must be near the typhoon sector and sector 001 and E-E must be much faster then originaly given credit. if they were doing warp 9.99 it would mean 5-20 ly distance.

    C. lol, Occam's razor is not exactly the law of the preservation of mass you know, it's more of an anegdote

Don't worry, only Warhhips have a hyperdrive rating of 1 or lower ( except for the Falcon ).
