I'v noticed a lot that boys laugh at each others pain specificly there friends. If a girl is hurt though, they are far more sympathetic. Also I think girls don't laugh at each other as much and if you do your viewed as mean. What evolutionary value could boys have for taking pleasure in a friends minor injuries? P.s. Because it's a way of minimizing the pain. A way to make clear that us men are strong enough to laugh at pain and injury. (Especially when it happens to someone else.) It also helps build group cohesion and encourages men to ignore pain and laugh along with the group.

Very true...people make too much of pain these days. I took my son to the dentist to pull out his wisdom teeth and they put him under sedation...what woos. When I had my wisdom teeth taken out they did all four at one time with just local anesthisa. It was done while I was in the Navy...not a big deal. I was back at work within 24 hours. I was uncomfortable for a while, but it passed. That being said there are somethings that are truely painful. I don't want to discount pain too much. But sometimes I think we make too much of a little pain.
