I noticed there wasn't a thread for this yet so I just wanted to know what is everyone's profession here on sciforums? Starting with you yes YOU ? I'm a field engineer.
I'm an Implementer for an assisted living company. Also, I'm a college student and pimp. Okay, that last part was a lie. The pimp part.
I work for a firm that develops and constructs residential, multi-family, commercial and industrial property. My responsibilities are Purchasing, Estimating and Project Management. In a nutshell, if you're going to build something, I'm the guy that tells you what it's going to cost. In turn, you use that info to price it so you make the margin you want to make. I negotiate with subs and vendors to get the best price, develop the budgets based on those prices, and then approve all the invoices and make certain that they are at, or under budget. If something is over budget, that's when the fighting begins. It's my job to make sure we almost never pay any overages, unless it's a change order, or just a blatant fuck up on the part of one of our people. And then finally I'm the project manager for our most expensive properties. I do the scheduling and ordering of materials, and coordinate all inspections. Any value engineering we do also falls into my lap, mostly by default, because our designer doesn't have enough structural knowledge to shop things like floor systems, roof systems, lvl layouts, etc. Is that clear as mud now?

Well that depends on my medical condition and at times it isn't all that great. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I had 2 heart attacks and bleeding ulcers that nearly killed me last year and double pneumonia this year already! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! So keep healthy as you can so when you retire you can have at least some enjoyment out of it. The "golden" years , to me, are your youth, for your family takes care of everything for you until you reach at least 18.
Shite Cosmic, slap yourself around, drink more red and go diving as often as possible, I reckon you've got two good decades left! Don't let me down!... post some more underwater pics please.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy retirement BUT the medical problems sometimes are really depressing. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
