Just saying "bye" to all those that have previously started, are going to start, or thinking about starting a "goodbye" or "I am leaving" thread.

Why not just leave? Why call attention to your departing? Why must your justify your actions to us?

 

cuz they need to know that people care???

 

They want to know that people care and that their existence here mattered for their own selfish reasons. The true test of importance would be to simply leave with no warning and to watch as the entire forum comes to an end because their previously-active presence on this forum was the glue that held it all together. Creating a thread of goodbyes only feeds the ego and gives reason to return... as history can show us.

You must not have read what I said. I am not leaving. If I do, I will not be making an announcement. It will.. just happen.

 

I thought that was self-evident for the most part. Do you also wonder why people who are moving away say goodbye to their former acquaintances?

 

Absane...you must realize that the goodbye threads are for drama and drama is good because it wakes people up makes them at least show they care even a bit, dont deny them that.

 

When people are moving away, that's a real "goodbye." It isn't a call-for-attention "goodbye."

I've seen hundreds of "I'm leaving" or "Goodbye" threads in my life on Internet forums. Very few of the thread originators never come back. I've even seen some create new accounts to hide the fact that they are back.

The kinds I am talking about are departures in protest to some action. Those from users like Pete are different.. he was not protesting... life was calling him.

I was not thinking of leaving but might think of it now and a thread title for the thread I might make since you brought to me the idea that I might wanna leave but then I haven't decided yet so..

 

you are leaving? Make a "goodbye world" thread and than leave...if you decide to come back than come back I will resurrect you, of course there is no such thing...you will be gone forever.
