What is your position on agnostic atheists? Agnostic theists? Do you simply refuse to recognize the difference between strong and weak atheism?

    http://www.positiveatheism.org/faq/faq1111.htm#WHATISATHEISM

I never know whether I should say "Agnostic" or whether I should say "Atheist". It is a very difficult question and I daresay that some of you have been troubled by it. As a philosopher, if I were speaking to a purely philosophic audience I should say that I ought to describe myself as an Agnostic, because I do not think that there is a conclusive argument by which one prove that there is not a God.

On the other hand, if I am to convey the right impression to the ordinary man in the street I think I ought to say that I am an Atheist, because when I say that I cannot prove that there is not a God, I ought to add equally that I cannot prove that there are not the Homeric gods.

None of us would seriously consider the possibility that all the gods of homer really exist, and yet if you were to set to work to give a logical demonstration that Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, and the rest of them did not exist you would find it an awful job. You could not get such proof.

Therefore, in regard to the Olympic gods, speaking to a purely philosophical audience, I would say that I am an Agnostic. But speaking popularly, I think that all of us would say in regard to those gods that we were Atheists. In regard to the Christian God, I should, I think, take exactly the same line.

Like I said semantics. You either lean one way or you don't, belief in God or belief in no God or don't know. We can talk about specific proteins, I mean gods, but if you believe in any one of them, it makes you a thiest. Unless you regard me as an atheist.

See my explanation of a negative control or positive control in previous post.

    I like my data clean.

You have to show there is no band before you can claim something isn't there

And you need a control to show its not a false negative.

In case your antibody does not work, it could mean its there, you just could not see it.

Well, proteins are in the realm of science. Their presence is falsifiable... This is where the spaghetti monster argument comes in, which I won't bother with, since everyone knows it.

Indeed. However what happened to not feeding the trolls? She's smart enough to know better, or maybe I give her too much credit. Either way perhaps it's time to be the better person and ignore her nonsense.

    So is atheism falsifiable?

Wish I had that luxury. Unfortunately it seems religion is fair game worldwide and especially Muslims. Seems there is nothing people like to do better than to tell Muslims about their beliefs and delusions and violent tendencies.

And we are entitled to point out the intellectual dishonesty, the lies and the delusion of your opinions, not that you give a flying fuck.

No, and it is not in the realm of science either.

    Unfortunate indeed T_T

I'm confused, from what I know of SAM, s/he has been mostly effective as a moderator (still waiting on that "Evolution and denial of evolution..." thread), I've only been back for short time so can someone post examples of SAM moderator nazism and oppression of athiest?

You do have that option, but instead you choose to open your mouth and spout forth dishonesty. Two wrongs do not make a right and nobody forces you to speak, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

I agree with you ElectricFetus, SAM has done an amazing job as a moderator and she is definitely not an example of any atrocity listed by phlogistician.

From what I can tell this complaint all comes from disagreement in the thread about atheist indoctrination in the religion forum, and has nothing to do with her moderation.

Yes Exhumed you are correct. phlogistician is using his personal disagreement with SAM by calling her out as a lousy moderator. Well guess what phlogistician, your lies will not stand!

    What dishonesty?

I think phlogistician is pissed at my continual deletion of his flames in B&G. All posts are soft deleted and accessible to the admin. I don't condone abusive language in Biology and some people consider it as repression of their freedom of expression.

I thought I had reopened the evolution thread, I will check it asap.

    A lot of her posts in these threads spring to mind;

    http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=78093

I recall there was another thread I can't find, and I'm sure other people have examples you might like to read so I suggest a good unbias read so you can judge for yourself.

Those are my opinions and they are based on the information I have given to justify them. Sorry to say, opinions can be biased.

Abrahamic creationist theisms tend to trigger negative replies of this kind, yes.

Because Abrahamic creationist theisms worship a killer god, a god who is said will send everyone else into eternal hellfire - and they call this good.
    This pisses off many people.

See above post, it's been pointed out to you several times in those threads exactly where you're being dishonest, and you know full well he's not just soar about you deleting his flames, he's tired of arguing against you while you blindly continue. Another post another lie, I take back what I said earlier, I do indeed give you too much credit.
