They should both have a laugh, of course. It's a film and the Quran is merely a book. Are you that much of an idiot?

Ah, the old "terrorism has nothing to do with religion" shtick. But of course, it does. The parsimoneous explanation for why anyone would commit, say, a suicide bombing, is that they actually believe what they say they believe. Of course, there is an overwhelming number of islamic terrorists these days, which makes it convenient for you to ignore the religious aspect.

    - Religion poisons everything.

It's a typical ploy of Muslims to hide behind the language.

If you feel targeted, by all means, organize or attend a peaceful demonstration in Amsterdam or the Hague. Why not go to the Dutch court (or support a Dutch Muslim to do so), if you think you can proof that the content of the movie advocates violence against Muslims? Or, you could sponsor someone who can produce a movie rebutting Wilders' statements.

Seems to me that to make your point, actively using the tools, which should be available in any free society (and that includes the Netherlands), is a bit more productive than merely complaining about hypocrisy and making sarcastic remarks about an entire nation.

Now, from my perspective, given the crap Denmark had to deal with, the Dutch government is right to take into consideration the possibility that some people will not restrain themselves to peaceful and legal means of protest. Is it wrong for our government to be on a heightened level of awareness, when in a recent comparable situation shit did hit the fan? I do not think so. I'm guessing they are just running through the same checklists when we host a controversial international summit which is sure to attract a fair amount of protesters, some of which eager to pick a fight.

So, you may understand, the government response is not about religion or Muslims in particular, it is about bracing the country for a controversial event bound to have the attention of those who want to escalate the whole thing.

And where does the Quran say go blow yourself up and kill innocent people and you shall be rewarded?

Its not a ploy, I suggest you take classes in Arabic to get some idea of just how vast and complex it can be. But hey, what would I know right

2:98 Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers.

4:76 Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak.

5:51 O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

So why don't they have the same attitude towards freedom of expression of Holocaust denial or freedom of expression of Nazi attitudes among the Dutch people?

What a silly game, spidergoat. Let's play it again.

Beyond this superficial comparison, it isn't so much harder to understand that the two billion Muslims in the world -and a similar number of Christians- do not take such violent scenes from their scriptures as their inspiration for action.

What is significant in comparing these two demographics is that traditionally Muslim regions are under much greater turmoil and oppression today than what we might loosely call contemporary "Christendom". If religious traditions could be somehow be exchanged while changing nothing else, the underlying despair and rage sparking radicalism would likely remain where it is, because when it comes to radicalism, religion is not only the "last refuge of the scoundrel"- often it is their favorite, most socially-legitimizing hangout.

The formation of the state of Israel is based on a 5000 year old book. Does the exclusively Jewish law of return and consequent oppression of Palestinians reflect Israeli obsession with laws from the Torah? Is Jewish supremacy enshrined in Talmudic law?

Yes. And they are equally dangerous. The difference is the Jewish and Christian custom of reinterpreting scriptures to adapt to the times. Islam allows no such "reformation".

What about your book ? Can it be questioned because of it's age ?

I'm not questioning the age, I'm questioning the basis for discrimination against Palestinians. Are Israeli laws segregationist due to Judaic laws?

The Jewish law of return which allows an American born Jew rights to land that a native born Palestinian cannot have is reformation?

    That's not what I said..
You question the contents, based on the age of the book.
Can the Koran be questioned for the same reason ?

Israel isn't a theocracy, although there are alot of religiously crazed settlers, and they do have some influence. If the Jews were just refugees from Europe without any religious bias, there would be no Palestinian problem.

Like I said, I don't question the age of the book; I question the formation of a state for Europeans on Palestinian land based on the premise of the book.

An American Jew can settle on land that a Palestinian cannot. European and Russian Jews have been given a state that Palestinians lived on for thousands of years. Over 90% of a native population has been held hostage on the premise of a state based on a religious text.
