I would like that "under god" part taken out. America is the land where religion is free, the church and state should be completely separate.
I don't think by freedom of faith they meant a nation run exclusively by Christian men. It isn't mandatory for the president to believe in the Sun of God as his or her savior.
AFAIK no Congressman has ever been allowed to choose a religious book of any kind to be sworn in on - by tradition, and possibly by law (hasn't been tested AFAIK) that would violate the Constitution. Ellison was not sworn in on the Koran. He chose Thomas Jefferson's Koran for the photo op props afterwards. The SO came home yesterday talking about the lunchroom conversation concerning Obama's secret Muslim faith. This crap is dangerous.

Muslims use a lunar calendar, but I have never noticed any particular reverence for the moon amongst muslims. They certainly don't worship the moon. Perhaps it is true that the people converted by Mohammed were polytheists, but is this not also true of Hebrews? Didn't Moses have some trouble with a golden calf? lol all this noise over such a little thing Over here in Belgium we've had our share of political problems as well, but the funniest one was when the guy who won the elections (as is gonna be prime minister in a month orso) actually sang the French national anthem instead of the belgian one when asked to do so on national TV. that was hilarious...but not more than that. This happend a few months ago and the guy still has a career and is still in the running for high office.
