Why do people drive while drunk? It's not only endangering themselves, but also their passangers and other people on the road. It's utterly irresponsible and dangerous, and yet many do that, why?
That's a good question. Here are a few possible reasons: - They don't think they are as impaired as they are. - They've done it before, and therefore, think it's not that bad. - Too lazy to get a taxi. - Too drunk the think properly. - They're scum assholes.
They have to get home. Usually those who drink go out allot to different bars and clubs then they drink to much, which they shouldn't do but no one stops them, like the bartenders, then they think they can make it home without any problems. Nowadays those bartenders are becoming liable for giving to much alcohol to customers and are getting sued for allot of money. Another reason is many, many people stop by the bar on the way home from work to get the "happy hour" specials usually 2 for 1. Then they get into their vehicles and think they aren't impaired. There are other reasons that someone else will come up I'm sure.
There's people who have a lack of planning and forethought. They take their vehicles with them, and don't take their predicted level of inebriation into consideration. There are also people who believe bad things will never happen to them, so they don't take it seriously.
No. A person who was not stupid would not need the go ahead. They would not consider drinking and driving in the first instance
You realize that stupid and irresponsible are two different things, right ? Furthermore, a person can be irresponsible about some things but be a very responsible person about many others things..
See the thing about drink driving is, 30,000 people a year die from drinking, 45,000 people a year die in driving incidents, and yet only a couple thousand people a year die from drinking AND driving. I'm not taking any chances Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Unfortunately with the state of public transport I couldn't make a living without a car, so if petrol and all the other things we have to pay to run a car continue to rise in price then the government will be paying me to stay at home. I'd rather not have to drive though. Whilst everyone I know is always getting drunk as it's a part of British culturePlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!, I actually almost never drink.
When I was younger, I drove drunk a lot. It was stupid, but the reason was, I didn't want to get in trouble. :wallbang: If I missed curfew at college, I was in trouble. If I came home late, I was in trouble. If I stayed at a friends, my husband would have been upset. It was always "No! I have to get home!!"
