Mod Bias - the sequel - with scam proof poll

Given the vast reserves on energy being spent on introspection and cleaning house of late, I thought it would be interesting to see if trends have changed any.

Recently, we have had a spate of complaints about individual moderators "stalking" posters and unfairly handing out infractions for "trivial" offences. These complaints have, pretty much without exception, come from members immediately after they have received an infraction for something they have posted.

I would like to gauge members' perceptions of moderator bias, in order to determine if we have any moderators who are generally considered as biased.

So, please answer in the poll whether YOU, personally, feel like you have been unfairly targetted by a moderator.

Please vote on the basis of YOUR OWN experience, and not whether you think moderators have been fair to other posters.

NOTE - To be fair, you should vote according to your experiences only during the previous 3 months, since that was when the last poll expired

I too will agree with Sputnik, you need a "none of them" for I haven't ever been affected adversely by any moderator.

 

I feel like I have been given great advice ( and a fair amount of leniency and patience ) from the Mods.
They don't always get it right ( I have been very disappointed in a few posts which have been deleted) in my mind, posts of little antagonism or profanity and one or two bans I know of were just ridiculous but I don't envy the task and they generally do it well.

What do polls like this really mean? There's always a few people who feel like they've been unfairly treated---this is to be expected. It doesn't change the fact that the same people may or may not have actually been ``mistreated''.

 

Perhaps it gives those who feel they were "offended" a way to vent their frustrations. :shrug:

 

If people want to vent thier frustrations, they usually start threads in this forum.

But yes, I think you are right.

 

None of them. My ONLY complaint about the Mods is Tiassa's rude behavior towards MANY people.

Agreed. But since it's the purpose of a Mod to moderate AND set an example for the rest, that makes his actions a mockery of his assignment.

Please -everybody choose me. This is the answer he wants, so give it to him. I voted for myself, even though I've treated LG no different than anyone else who violates the rules in the Religion forum.

Interestingly enough, those that require moderation are the ones that scream "moderator bias," etc, whining about "you infracted me" when infractions no longer even exist. We only give friendly warnings now, designed to remind you of the rules of the forum. The funny thing is, most of the nonsense that needs moderation in the Religion forum is from posters that rarely post elsewhere. 90% of LG's posts are in the religion forum. Sandy is the only exception -but she isn't here for science discussions, that much is clear, posting mostly in the non-science sections related to her fundamentalist/extremists position.

I'm sure a few others will be by and vote for me -so I urge everyone to click the box next to my name only. I LOVE to win popularity polls.

I haven't been treated unfairly, but I have seen others treated that way....but not often.

 

I chose myself, hence I'm running an even score with Skinwalker. Take that, Skin!!! HAHA!

 

I voted for goofyfish, since he unfairly leaves all the moderation to me and String.
