I saw a youtube video of some strange and obviously artificial thing in the centre of the Greenland Icecap (centred at 70 degrees 34 minutes north and 40 degrees west). I went to Google Earth and took a close look at it. The object is about 50 miles long, dead straight, orange and yellow colouring, and looks like the leading edge of a vast object buried by snow and ice. The body of the object shows up for a considerable distance away to the south and west of the straight line, fading down into the snow as if it is buried at an angle. I was at an eye-altitude of 81 km, and the object took up my entire screen. The eastern edge of the object is at 38-56 W and 70-24 N, while the western edge is at 41.00 W and 70-43 N. Go and have a look on Google Earth, and I'd like some theories as to what the heck it is.
Probably some sort of error in the map making. Edit: What do you think it is ? If it really is something (strange/secret) don't you think they would have kept it out of Google Earth ?
Well, I guess they do have editorial power over the satellite photos before they're put up on G-Earth for viewing by the masses. Which is what surprised me so much when I looked ot the picture of Greenland, because there it is, fifty miles long (according to the youtube video) and standing out like the proverbial. As you say, if it was a major secret base or such like, I would've expected the military or whoever to have doctored the photo to hide it. What could be more simple than to airbrush white paint over Greenland to hide something embarrassing? Makes me wonder why they didn't do it; A: the military don't know about it (impossible) B: " " " care about it (unlikely) C: It's something that was built by the military or whoever, but quite legitimate, like a sub-ice base during the Cold War, perhaps, and melting is exposing the edge of the structure. In which case the military aren't too concerned about it becoming exposed, because there's precious little they can do about it anyway. Besides, civilian airliners fly over the area--surely if the base (or whatever) was that large and so differently-coloured from the snow, people would see it. Who knows what else is under there?
Well considering how big the earth is and the amount of possible editing it would take to rid all of google earth of "unwanted" portions of imagery.......they might have just missed it, or havn't got to it yet. Ive seen the youtube vid you talked about and the image first hand on google earth. It could be an image anomaly it could be something else........lets entertain the idea that it is "something" though.......what in the hell would a 50 mile long yellow thing.....be doing in greenland? as a side note, it could be that this "thing" was burried by ice in previous military images in the past and since then the ice melted via GW revealing whatever the hell that thing is, and quite simply the military is unaware because the last observation of that area was......just ice.....
Hum, just by using my Jedi powers, i can sense that it would be the satellite swath badly aligned and coloured.
Yes. I feel it also. The force is strong with you. The rest of you, it's a friggin image processing artifact.
Aside from the Great Wall of China and highways, I doubt if there is a single 50-mile long man-made structure on the face of the whole Earth. And certainly NOT a 50-mile long building!! It's obviously some sort of photographic/ processing anomaly.
Always run around the block twice and stop to pull every weed you encounter, before you decide to utter the words "obviously artificial." Remember the "Bermuda Highway" or whatever they called it? This just had to be an artifact of an impossibly ancient and impossibly advanced civilization; there's no other way such perfectly shaped and positioned piles of rock could be that far under water. They're "obviously" the supports for an ancient bridge. Yeah right. Eventually the technology became available to analyze their structure and it turns out they are "obviously" natural. No one could have "just happened" to cut and stack all the rocks so that their crystalline structures were perfectly aligned. They would have needed technology like ours to even realize those structures were there.
Whatever it is, there is guitar music coming out of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OudJjaBGLIk The explanation? http://www.rense.com/general79/Adt.htm or, possibly http://g.sheetmusicplus.com/Look-Inside/covers/5446261.jpg
I'd have to agree with you, Avatar; it's so obvious that it can spotted as an anomaly from hundred of miles up. Sticks out like dogs nuts, as I said. If you want to hide something in snow, you don't piss on it.Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Those are camera pictures taken at different times and stitched together. You can see similar artifacts when zoom in on Africa.
Very similar artefact you can see on lake Baikal, siberia, above peninsula (53 59 N / 109 06 E) and is exatcly 50 miles long. That artefact is present there from the first day when google earth was born.
