    BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR!
    *gives trophy*

    Beautiful. Simply beautiful
Just random guess, but did you use long exposure or some sort of that for that photo? Considering that lightning happens just way too fast...

EDIT: Sorry didn't comment on this earlier:

This is also pretty ^_^ I'm not sure, but do you also use a long exposure on this one? The stream on the little-waterfalls seems much too blurry, so I wonder.
Oh, the best thing I noticed really late from this pic is the strange lizard-like rock in the middle. Now I'm fond of lizards, so that rock formation is plain awesome ^_^

Thanks curioucity, yeah, you're right about the long exposure, it was 1 minute which also accounts for the movement in the water.

I'm not sure if it is possible to catch a lightning bolt by seeing it and releasing the shutter. I'd think not but I saw a bolt the other night which seemed to last in the sky for at least a second. It looked like several pulses up and down the same bolt if you can picture what I mean. If this was actually the case and not an illusion, I imagine it would be possible.

Thanks curioucity, glad you like that one.
Plenty of reptiles do live there, notably Estern water dragons, many skinks and red bellied black snakes.
There are several humanoid faces in the rocks too ( have to squint your eyes and let your imagination go a little.

Here's some light rays in the crystal South Pacific Ocean.

    Photograph by Anthony Stuart

    Surviving in Space
    Rocket Science

Fedoras firmly planted, technicians from Robert H. Goddard's Roswell, New Mexico, workshop transport pieces of a rocket to its launch site in January 1940. Geographic staff writer McFall Kerbey carries the nose cone. Goddard—the father of the modern rocket—had been persuaded by his friend Charles Lindbergh to allow the magazine access, but every launch that winter witnessed by Kerbey and photographer B. Anthony Stewart ended in failure. The article was eventually canceled, and Stewart's photographs of Goddard's earthbound rockets, including this one, were never published in the magazine.

Sorry can't post pictures but there's a fab book called 'Evolution in Action' by Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu and Patrick Gries (Thames & Hudson) chock full of skeleton photos.
    Anyone seen it? Fabulous!

Thats just the liberal do gooder point of view, making excuses for lazy birds who don't want to build nests.
