It's catered and prepared by a professional chef. It's very tasty the way he prepares it. It's made of tofu. It's at my uncle's house but what I like is the mashed potatoes with coconut milk and this punch with melon and mint.

I guess you've never had tofurkey. Or ever had a five star chef prepare dinner for you. They can make magic in the kitchen. Old-fashioned is on it's way out. Many people eat organic and are vegans. It's not yucky except to those who aren't used to it.

Oleander, What you are preparing would be considered a snack in my family. We are having all the kids and grandkids over for Thanksgiving, all seventeen of us. When people arrive we will be serving pumpkin bread, hot apple cider, chips and dip, crudites, and assorted hors d'ourves. After that come the appetizers, shrimp cocktail and dates stuffed with cream cheese and walnuts. That will be followed by pumpkin soup which will in turn be followed by first an anti-pasta consisting of assorted dry Italian sausages )four different kinds), artichoke hearts, grilled red peppers, assorted hard cheeses, (ten different kinds), assorted olives, stuffed celery, stuffed mushrooms, marinated mushrooms, and grilled eggplant. lasagne accompanied by pepperoni bread and sausage bread with a marinara sauce to dip it in will follow. accompanied by a salad of baby spinach leaves, cranberries and walnuts. After the pasta course we will be having assorted sorbets in fruit shells to clean the palate. At this point everyone will take a break. Next comes the main course; a twenty four pound Bell and Evans turkey, two kinds of stuffing, one in the bird and one outside the bird, marshmallow sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, green beans with mushroom soup and onion rings, mashed turnips, stuffed artichokes, spiced mushrooms, two kinds of cranberry sauce, gravy, and dinner rolls/ All courses will be accompanied by wine, soda, cider and juice. Everyone will once again rest. After resting the desserts come out, at least eight pies, two sugar free and the rest regular, pumpking, apple, pecan, coconut custard and cherry, assorted Italian cookies and pastries, coffee, decaf coffee, espresso,tea, and cordials. That marks the end of the formal meal but everyone will then sit around talking and eating fruit and nuts washed down with more coffee, tea, espresso, cordials, soda, cider and juice. I know I have forgotten some items but that should give you a general idea of Thanksgiving at my house. My wife is Sicilian/American and believes in abundanza, abundance.

sounds like me every year i do so much we end up throwing a load away. christmas day food is: breakfast: scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. lunch: salad, with gammon dinner: turkey, roast potatoes, bread sauce, white sauce, carrots, sprouts, little sausages with bacon, stuffing, desert: is always, ice cream sundaes, with chocolate sauce with biscuits, and then coffee. supper: turkey barms, with bread sauce and stuffing. thats just christmas day. i make so many cakes, biscuits, christmas cake, mince pies, popcorn balls.
