Oh! I guess my grandpa and his family were freegans. That sounds so much better than impoverished.

    I don't like pigstuff.

Besides my reasoning also is that if I can live without killing someone or contribute to killing someone then I do it.

It's not paying any honour and respect to life and death if you buy it wrapped in plastic.
If I were stranded in the middle of nowhere in winter when there is no vegetable life I'd eat someone without a second guess given the chance. Then it would be a question of survival not convenience.

Vegan means nothing from an animal what-so-ever right? No milk, no eggs, no cheese, no leather, etc.
What about food that was grown using the manure of animals? Can you have pets?

Fuck *smacks forehead* I confused it with vegetarian. Don't eat dead animals, but I do eat eggs, so technically I'm not a vegan.

Near Vegan here too. However it's not anything to do with animal rights, I just can't palette Meat, Egg or Fish. I have been able to eat things like pastries where Egg is contained, however not in high concentrations (I couldn't eat a flan or Omelette) . Recently I've been trying to not eat Cheese or Drink milk, the main reason is just because of the amount of fat it contains (Although there is then the reasoning of genetic assimilation through ingestion, however some would attempt to dissuade my perception by calling it nonsense.)

I've tried Soya Milk and Rice Milk in things like Coffee but they always came out foul, however recently I've tried Oat Milk which although does cloud it then settle in the base of your mug (making a coffee appear black) but it's less disgusting. Oat milk tastes like skimmed milk that's been in a cereal bowl for a while (and soaked through the cereal)

I have a vegan friend, he's in the Army now. It's actually not that hard, these days there are many alternatives, even vegan bacon. I liked some of the things he cooked.

its parly because of health reasons. but its only a small part of why i went vegan. i am so against any kind of animal cruelty, and i just dont want animals being slaughtered for my own food. we are omnivores, and even though i know its not the healthiest way to eat, id much rather just eat food that has not been made to suffer and die for my consumption.
im not very eloquent so im not good at explaining it really, but thats why. animal cruelty

These are the main reasons I became vegan. It has been about a month now and it hasn't tested me in the slightest. There are vegan substitutes for just about everything nowadays, and I find they satisfy me more than meat or dairy ever did. Plus, knowing that I don’t contribute to the cruelty of the meat industry makes me feel much better.

what if you caught your own fish in a lake or bought eggs from a farmer. No industry there. (we weren't mean to our chickens)

Hmm, it still involves killing, which I would prefer to stay away from. However, I have wanted to own some chickens since I was young, unfortunately we're renting at present so it's not a possibility just yet. Plus the Chinese Silky Chickens that I love apparently have poor egg production.
