I don't really feel that the poll choices accurately reflect my own gaming.

I do like and have played some of the 1st person games like Medal of Honor, Doom (1,2,3) and Call of Duty. Morrowind is more of an RPG in the same genre.
For RPGs, I also played some of the old console games like the Ultima series.

I have also played many incarnations of the Sim City series, as well as that old and mostly forgotten Sim Earth (I think it would be cool if they made a new version of that).

Strategy/war games have long been a favorite of mine. In the Nintendo era, Shingen the Ruler, Genghis Khan, and Nobunaga's Ambition were pretty cool. More recently, the Age of Empires games and Command and Conquer have seen quite a bit of action in my world.
Lately, I've been really into the detailed WW2 era strategic simulation "Hearts of Iron". Specifically Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday. Games like that really flip my switch, if you know what I mean...

However, I also like to dabble with the emulators for old consoles and arcade games. Nice to be able to play some of those on one's computer, and not have to deal with the old and fickle hardware!

Overall though, I don't spend a huge amount of time playing games. There's a ton of games out there that I haven't played. I usually pick a game and play it pretty hardcore for a short period, and then go on to other things for awhile. My game playing streaks come and go. I know some people have XBox's and Playstations and whatnot and all the latest games, and they play them pretty regularly. I just carefully pick a few PC games and usually try to make the most of them.

I like to play counterstrike source every once in a while. If I'm going to play the latest games anywhere near decently, I'd have to get a new high end pc.

Speaking of Computer games: CRYSIS is coming out soon. YAY!
That game is one hell of a bitch to run, Someone ran it on a mainframe computer and it still lagged on Super high settings.

Is that Rank/Unranked or both? (I'm guessing thats PC)
I daren't look at the hours on my gaming sessions, I know that my Ranked is only about a quarter of my overall time spent on it.

    (Has a look)
    236:23:34 Ranked (236hr) although it says 880 games played (880*20mins = 17600 mins / 60 = 293hrs (Possibly disconnections before ranking could be done)

So approx 1,200hrs on the XBOX 360 playing BF2:MC and no it's not because I liked it, it's just because it was the easiest to multiplayer on having the servers constantly present and not having to hunt for a user hosting a match.

I think Oblivion is the only other game I've put so many hours into. I'm hoping Mass Effect has the length to it, looks great in regards to reviews.

I play Counter-Strike 1.6 sometimes. I'll play Halo on occassion and then I play Quake 3 with CPMA mod (I've played 4, but didn't get into it).

I use to play CS:S (Counterstrike:Source) however I quit sometime back to play EVE (when I played EVE) because CS was suffering a lot of Wallhackers, Tweakers and Glitchers which took the fun out of playing. It wasn't like people were playing with Standard install but all modifying to get greater accuracy or see where peoples hitboxes were located etc.

I don't play them but my son does. Yes, they are very addictive. He'd rather play computer games than eat sometimes.
