Interesting that even in light of Iraq's unpopularity, that a slim majority favor hitting Iran.

it's just like paying taxes. people know it's necessary but don't want to do it themselves.
people around the world are less skeptical about Iran's capabilities and intentions. (some think that since Bush was wrong about WMDs in Iraq he's also likely to be wrong re Iran's WMDs). people just have less faith in their own ability to do anything militarily. but most of them know that sanctions won't stop shit and the only way to do it is through force

I doubt if the world will stand by. Already China and Russia have expressed a firm position against more American aggression. Sane nations won't declare war against the USA (as we did against Nazi Germany) but there is expressed disdain of American militarism.

This isn't a poll of the world but of Americans. Americans are often eager to cheerlead their armies off to battle as in Vietnam and Iraq. If a poll was taken of the world's population, 90% would oppose.

I really don't understand why anything should be done to Iran. We are

getting the same crap we got when the Iraq invasion happened, we were

fooled then, are we going to be fooled again? I hope not. Iran can just buy

nuclear weapons from China or Russia if it wanted to have a nuclear bomb.

It hasn't as yet so what makes everyone so upset at Iran anyway. Could it

be that it is buying all of its weapons and nuclear building materials from

others than the USA? I'll bet that's the problem. If they were to buy nuclear

reactors from the USA as Egypt is doing everything would be allot better I'd

    bet. Just a thought.

    Nickalooniean,

No it's not irrelevent. Bush isn't that stupid. Even Bush has learned that miltary action can have unforseen cosequences. World opinion isn't the deciding variable in any strike on Iran but far from irrelevent. The Americans are very aware what the Israelis, Arabs, Pakistanis, etc. view of such a strike could be. The Bush regime is fully aware that there is a disdain of the USA by the populations of western democracies and support from allies would be muted or non-existant. Very aware that some Arab nations might reduce oilflow, flow stop from Iran, the Venezuelan people reduce supply in sympathy....Russians and Norwegians not increase supply.

    World opinion is very relevant.

I don't trust polls. I don't believe that most Americans are in favor of attacking Iran.

Well, in the off chance that the US does attack Iran, the world won't do much. Just look at "the world's" proactive actions in Darfur, Rowanda, and pretty much every other case of somethin disagreeable.
