So, once again, is he supposedly skilled in structural engineering, mechanical design, cost-analysis, etc. or just someone with a few degrees in meteorology? Surely you're aware that being highly trained in one specific area doesn't mean anything at all in other areas. I'm still not impressed with him yet.

I still don't see what "both" you are talking about. I went to his home page again and this time most of the links seem to be working - before, they were not. This time I got to read his biography and the guy has NONE of the qualifications I asked about, ALL of which are needed to make the computations you seem so proud of. He is a meteorologist - a highly trained one at that - BUT that in no way makes any numbers he crunched in these other fields anywhere near credible.
Correct! A PHD in meteorology and or geology in no way makes him credible in the areas I mentioned. To think otherwise is pure folly. For example, Steven Hawking has several degrees in physics - do you suppose that qualifies him in the area of medicine???????????? You would have to be HIGHLY naive to think so.

Well Hugh Willoughby worked out about 20,000 tunnels to span the 40 mile width of the Gulfstream flowing to the North at about 6 MPH. I wanted less of them perhaps a thousand of them to span the 40 mile width of the Gulfstream.
If you want a thousand tunnels they would have to be 200 X 200 feet square at the openings and about 1200 feet long tapping into the cooler waters at depth. If you want 20,000 tunnels well they would have to be 20 times smaller.
