    From the DailyKos. I couldn't resist: O'Reilly & the Grand FOX Nutwork Tradition.

    The question posed is simple: "Well, what are the odds of all this happening by accident?"

    The exhibit would be funny, except that, for obvious reasons, it isn't. Essentially, the exhibit is four still-frames from FOX News in which the graphics are grossly inaccurate:

    (1) Republican incumbent is losing in late-September polls to Democratic challenger. FOX News error: parties are switched. Suddenly, the Republican candidate (who is actually a Democrat) leads the polls by eleven percent.

    (2) Former Congressman Mark Foley, disgraced by scandal, leaves an unidentified building. FOX News error: Foley, in reality, is a Republican, not a Democrat.

    (3) Brit Hume reports on Scooter Libby verdict. FOX News error: Libby was actually convicted.

    (4) Senator Arlen Specter, either criticizing the White House, or shortly thereafter. FOX News error: Specter, in reality, is a Republican, not a Democrat.

    I wish I could say people should watch FOX News for the humor, except, as noted, it's not particularly funny. Interestingly, O'Reilly's only place in the DailyKos report involves criticism of O'Reilly's recent slander of the website, and JetBlue's caving to a misguided or perhaps disingenuous public outcry.

    FOX News: "We report, you decide." The only problem with that formula is that the reporting is shite.

    Do they ever switch Democrats and Republicans when the Democrats are under fire? Just a thought.

    Okay. Good. Fine. Help us out--how do you know? Is there a link or resource we can use to demonstrate that? Maybe it's on your TiVo?

    C'mon, Nick ... you can give us a little more than that, right?

    Please?

    Are you saying that your own forgeries are your proof?

    And could you be a little more specific about "Truth TV"? I looked it up and landed at an Irish anti-abortion website.

    Ah. Sorry. It's a DVR system. I hadn't realized it was no longer available in the UK.

    Fox News = Fixed News = Fox Noise = Fake News. I like The Countdown with Keith Olberman on MSNBC every night at 7:00 PM (Central ST) because he calls O'Reilly and Hannity on their lies and "honest" mistakes.

    How long can O'Reilly keep on hating?

    O'Reilly may have picked a fight he doesn't want. Or, as the Kos himself pointed out: "Two can play at this game."

    Dear Lowe's Customer,

    Thank you for your comments regarding the program, The O'Reilly Factor.

    Lowe's has strict guidelines that govern the placement of our advertising. Our company advertises primarily in national, network prime-time television programs and on a variety of cable outlets.

    Lowe's constantly reviews advertising buys to make certain they are consistent with its policy guidelines. The O'Reilly Factor does not meet Lowe's advertising guidelines, and the company's advertising will no longer appear during the program.
    (DailyKos)

    The score: Kos 1, O'Reilly 1.

    Remember that the YearlyKos convention, while its name is inspired by the DailyKos, is its own thing. Granting O'Reilly a point is for the JetBlue pullout of the YearlyKos. In the long run, though, O'Reilly has more to lose than the DailyKos or any other political blog of any stripe.

    And the O'Reilly/FOX crowd will face tougher challenges yet:

    MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America's Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

    The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

    At least 5,000 people nationwide have signed up to compile logs on who is running commercials on Fox, Gilliam said. The groups want to first concentrate on businesses running local ads, as opposed to national commercials.

    ''It's a lot more effective for Sam's Diner to get calls from 10 people in his town than going to the consumer complaint department of some pharmaceutical company,'' Gilliam said.
    (NYTimes.com )

    Who knows? Maybe Bill thinks he's untouchable. Of course, with FOX at his back, he's had good reason to think so. But FOX is a corporation. Ratings are usually important because they mean higher ad prices. But if fewer companies are buying those ads, they might consider dropping Bill for another conservative hack.

    In principle, this is one fight O'Reilly shouldn't have picked. Whether that principle translates to reality remains to be seen.

    Take up that stone and feel its weight;
    Time marches on again.
    Cry out, "Throw first before it's too late!"
    Time marches on again.
    Run to the shelter of sarcasm and the shield of permanent grin;
    Wrapped in your cloak of superiority so thick
    That none of that shit can get in.

    Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust.
    You just keep on hating the whole world if you must.

    Yes everything peaceful, and everyone old and gray,
    Anyone who dares preach love and every kind word I say,
    And any thought of a future that just might be worth looking for,
    I watch you snicker and label it useless.
    I was once you before;
    I walked out that door.

    Heh, I was watching OutFoxed again, gettin' some good laughs as usual with em, but decided to check out the bonus material, lol, and found another whopper by him I forgot about that I couldn't find mentioned here.

    Anyone remember when Barbara Boxer was questioning Condoleeza Rice during her confirmation hearing and said: "I personally believe ... that your loyalty to the mission you were given, to sell this war, overwhelmed your respect for the truth". But Bill O'Reilly lies and said she said "troops" not "truth", and then goes on a huge tirade like usual and even tells some callers that went to correct him, on different days even, that they don't know what they're talking about because he's always right, lol.

    Why does Bill O'Reilly hate the Kos, Media Matters, Olbermann, Daily Show, and others? Cause they call them on their bullshit. What's funny is they don't even have to say anything, the radio and TV clips speak for themselves. I think they have too much rope to hang themselves with as they need a deeper chasm to stumble and fall in.

    Let me ask you this, though: does he treat democrats in the same manner? Would he call Hillary on an "honest" mistake?

    Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge Mr. Olbermann in his dogged pursuit of O'Reilly et al. and that's all well and good. I just wonder if he tends to only criticize those on the right, while ignoring those on the left.

    I'm asking this more because I don't really watch him or anyone else on the news channels unless I happen to catch them at the right time.

    This may have little to do with the conversation at hand, and I apologize in advance, but in light of the "troops", I'm getting really sick of the way the current administration shrouds itself in this guise of "if you're against us, you hate the troops". This is the most illogical, emotionally-based and faulty reasoning that one can stoop to. Instead of accepting that criticisms are directed at them(the Administration), they deflect them to ordinary men and women who are supposedly tasked with the responsibility of defending this country, its people, and its constitution. It's a completely dishonest tactic, indeed, especially when only the executive branch is truly responsible for starting the war(s) we are currently engaged in, at least as far as Iraq is concerned.

    Is anyone else fed up with this tactic?
