    Relax. I'm only kiddin' innit.

And yet, in another way, I'm not.

The Beatles broke America, caused riots everywhere they went, to the extent that they had to stop touring very early on in their careers (you know - Beatlemania?), invented psychedelia, experimented with their sound in a way that was previously unheard of, constantly pushing their own musical barriers. They went from naive, loveable mop-tops to tripped-out hippies to bitter, burned-out courtroom opponents in the space of less than 10 years. They went off to India, seeking enlightenment and shelter from the madness around them, only to return disappointed and disillusioned. Incredible music, incredible band and an incredible story, writ large on a scale that bands today can only dream of.

Now tell me: how can I sit still and listen to My Chemical fucking Romance and not compare them to that?

I know i'm going to be verbally assaulted for saying this, but does anyone else feel like they are forced to love and praise The Beatles?

Have you ever been in talking in social group and someone comments "how the beatles are the greatest group in existence "and you kinda disagree with them and they go nuts on you .To some people dissing the beatles is like saying God doesn't exist to a crazy evangelist.

The only great thing about the beatles was John Lennon. I like chemical romance more than the beatles.

you cannot put the beatles in the same league has my chemical romance, the beatles are extremly good, i love them, i also like my chemical romance but not has much has the beatles, and john lennon wasn't the best thing about the beatles, thats like saying john deacon is the best person in queen!

I just don't see why there is such a the big fuss over The Beatles, they were just an ok group. And i'm gonna have to disagree with you, John Lennon was the best thing about the Beatles, Like Freddie Mercury was the Best thing about Queen.

IMO, as far as secular bands go--Queen, Rush or Yes all tied for first...followed by the Beatles and Def Leppard.

HIM. Followed by Linkin Park (both of whom are touring together and were here just two weeks ago in an AMAZING concert).

I may have to agree... almost.

Metallica yes. The rest... eh, no.

Are we back to just naming bands with no more than a cursory glance at the thread title, then?
