N.I.N.'s "Right Where It Belongs" Wow can't believe no one mentions that one... Eaither version is greatly depressing but the acoustic version or "V2" is just that much more so. And hits the spot if you want to be depressed while really loathing an Ex....
Ode To Billie Joe - Bobbie Gentry It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day I was out choppin' cotton and my brother was balin' hay And at dinner time we stopped and walked back to the house to eat And Mama hollered out the back door "y'all remember to wipe your feet" And then she said "I got some news this mornin' from Choctaw Ridge" "Today Billy Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge" 'n' Papa said to Mama as he passed around the blackeyed peas "Well Billy Joe never had a lick of sense, pass the biscuits, please" "There's five more acres in the lower forty I've got to plow" 'n' Mama said it was shame about Billy Joe, anyhow Seems like nothin' ever comes to no good up on Choctaw Ridge And now Billy Joe MacAllister's jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge 'n' Brother said he recollected when he and Tom and Billie Joe Put a frog down my back at the Carroll County picture show And wasn't I talkin' to him after church last Sunday night? "I'll have another piece-a apple pie, you know it don't seem right" "I saw him at the sawmill yesterday on Choctaw Ridge" "And now ya tell me Billie Joe's jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge" 'n' Mama said to me "Child, what's happened to your appetite?" "I've been cookin' all morning and you haven't touched a single bite" "That nice young preacher, Brother Taylor, dropped by today" "Said he'd be pleased to have dinner on Sunday, oh, by the way" "He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Choctaw Ridge" "And she and Billy Joe was throwing somethin' off the Tallahatchie Bridge" A year has come 'n' gone since we heard the news 'bout Billy Joe 'n' Brother married Becky Thompson, they bought a store in Tupelo There was a virus going 'round, Papa caught it and he died last Spring And now Mama doesn't seem to wanna do much of anything And me, I spend a lot of time pickin' flowers up on Choctaw Ridge And drop them into the muddy water off the Tallahatchie Bridge

The Sexual Revolution of the 1960s gave rise to some truly depressing songs about love, which could hardly be called "love songs." We'll Sing in the Sunshine --Gale Garnett I will never love you. The cost of love's too dear. But though I'll never love you, I'll stay with you one year. And we can sing in the sunshine. We'll laugh every day. We'll sing in the sunshine. Then I'll be on my way. And when our year has ended And I have gone away, You'll often speak about me And this is what you'll say. We sang in the sunshine. We laughed every day. We sang in the sunshine. Then she went away.

CRAZY by Patsy Cline Crazy, I'm crazy for feelin' so lonely, I'm crazy, crazy for feelin' so blue...... I knew, you'd love me as long as you wanted, And then someday, you'd leave me for somebody new. Worry, why do I let myself worry? Wonderin', what in the world did I do? Oh, crazy, for thinkin' that my love could hold you..... I'm crazy for tryin' and crazy for cryin And I'm crazy for lovin' you. Crazy, for thinkin' that my love could hold you, I'm crazy for tryin, and crazy for cryin And I'm crazy for lovin' you.....
sara mclachlan - i will remember you I will remember you Will you remember me? Don’t let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories Remember the good times that we had? I let them slip away from us when things got bad How clearly I first saw you smilin’ in the sun Wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one I will remember you Will you remember me? Don’t let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories I’m so tired but I can’t sleep Standin’ on the edge of something much too deep It’s funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word We are screaming inside, but we can’t be heard But I will remember you Will you remember me? Don’t let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories I’m so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose Clinging to a past that doesn’t let me choose Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light And I will remember you Will you remember me? Don’t let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories And I will remember you Will you remember me? Don’t let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories Weep not for the memories Angel-- Spend all your time waiting For that second chance For a break that would make it okay There’s always one reason To feel not good enough And it’s hard at the end of the day I need some distraction Oh beautiful release Memory seeps from my veins Let me be empty And weightless and maybe I’ll find some peace tonight In the arms of an angel Fly away from here From this dark cold hotel room And the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage Of your silent reverie You’re in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort there So tired of the straight line And everywhere you turn There’s vultures and thieves at your back And the storm keeps on twisting You keep on building the lie That you make up for all that you lack It don’t make no difference Escaping one last time It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness oh This glorious sadness that brings me to my knees In the arms of an angel Fly away from here From this dark cold hotel room And the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage Of your silent reverie You’re in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort there You’re in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort here
OMG! I remember that song. My mom always played it on the hi-fi super loud (to hear it in the floor) and watched me sing it. Then she saw the movie and we didn't listen to it. Apparently it was about.....sex Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I would think that she dumped him and he couldn't take it. That's why he jumped off the bridge. It was HER fault! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
i think the saddest songs are the ones that touch you on a deeper level that can apply to anyone you love sincerely and it's not always romantic. The lyrics may be specific for that but the general message of love is there. It can apply to any personal relationship, parent-child, brother-sister, lovers, best friends etc. i love you I have a smile Stretched from ear to ear To see you walking down the road We meet at the lights I stare for a while The world around disappears Just you and me On this island of hope A breath between us could be miles Let me surround you My sea to your shore Let me be the calm you seek Oh and every time I’m close to you There’s too much I can’t say And you just walk away And I forgot To tell you I love you And the night’s Too long And cold here Without you I grieve in my condition For I cannot find the strength to say I need you so Oh and every time I’m close to you There’s too much I can’t say And you just walk away And I forgot To tell you I love you And the night’s Too long And cold here Without you
This one I like The Scientist - Coldplay Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry You don't know how lovely you are. I had to find you, tell you I need you, Tell you I set you apart. Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions, Oh lets go back to the start. Running in circles, Comin' up Tails Heads on a science apart. Nobody said it was easy, It's such a shame for us to part. Nobody said it was easy, No one ever said it would be this hard. Oh take me back to the start. I was just guessin' at numbers and figures, Pulling your puzzles apart. Questions of science, science and progress Do not speak as loud as my heart. And tell me you love me, come back and haunt me Oh and I rush to the start. Runnin' in circles, Chasin' up Tails Comin' back as we are Nobody said it was easy, Oh it's such a shame for us to part. Nobody said it was easy, No one ever said it would be so hard. I'm goin' back to the start. Ahhhh oooooo x3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3Kd7IGPyeg This is another one thats okay Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never coming round Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of something wild Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit helpless and I'm lying like a child in your arms Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know I've got to get out and cry Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart And I need you now tonight And I need you more than ever And if you only hold me tight We'll be holding on forever And we'll only be making it right Cause we'll never be wrong together We can take it to the end of the line Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks I really need you tonight Forever's gonna start tonight Forever's gonna start tonight Once upon a time I was falling in love But now I'm only falling apart There's nothing I can do A total eclipse of the heart Once upon a time there was light in my life But now there's only love in the dark Nothing I can say A total eclipse of the heart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw5Vcnjv5Bo But this what I really prefer Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! You Oughta Know -Alanis Morissette I want you to know, that I'm happy for you I wish nothing but the best for you both An older version of me Is she perverted like me Would she go down on you in a theatre Does she speak eloquently And would she have your baby I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able To make it enough for you to be open wide, no And every time you speak her name Does she know how you told me you'd hold me Until you died, till you died But you're still alive And I'm here to remind you Of the mess you left when you went away It's not fair to deny me Of the cross I bear that you gave to me You, you, you oughta know You seem very well, things look peaceful I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced Are you thinking of me when you fuck her Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able To make it enough for you to be open wide, no And every time you speak her name Does she know how you told me you'd hold me Until you died, til you died But you're still alive And I'm here to remind you Of the mess you left when you went away It's not fair to deny me Of the cross I bear that you gave to me You, you, you oughta know Cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me And I'm not gonna fade As soon as you close your eyes and you know it And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back I hope you feel it...well can you feel it And I'm here to remind you Of the mess you left when you went away It's not fair to deny me Of the cross I bear that you gave to me You, you, you oughta know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbxNybJ1k0o
Tomoko Tane "Broken Wings" (ending theme for Trinity Blood) Then again, watching japanese animation, at least in original form, might not be the best idea for someone in a bad state of mind, huh? Kite as an example...
