How is it Christoterrorism, when the "terrorists" neither terrorize in the explicit name of their religion, or prosetylize to the conquered masses? Is the consideration of "christoterrorism" more a reactive meme to the unbearable notion that muslims in Iraq appear to be living subservient to their (evil, evil) nominally Christian conquerors? Is that what the fuss is about?

S.A.M. says the underdog (terrorists) are going to win and that this is somehow survival of the fittest.

    I asked:
If its so clear the terrorists are going to win how are they the underdog ?
Also, how is it related to survival of the fittest ?

    S.A.M. answers:
All Christians are the same? Possibly an Americanised version of Christoterrorism?

I dont even know where that came from and what it has to do with what i asked..

Usually not for homosexuality. Not a hundred years ago.
    Your link goes nowhere.

Beyond the issue of the arms trade, I fail to see how Americans can be faulted for any of this. It's called capitalism.
For someone so eager to blame atheists for bad, bad communism, you're not coming off as a fan of capitalism.
Or do you just pick and choose among what argument seems to fit your needs?
Unless the U.S is so malevolent that we purposely use the dollar to drive those economies under. Shit, mostly we're dealing with post-colonial issues.
    We're bad, bad people.

So...third world countries should not be accountable for the debts they have?
The US and G8 countries have done a fair amount of debt reduction and debt elimination.

Okay, this pisses me off. Russell was a humanitarian, a damned nice man and we can owe a lot of what we know about formal logic to him. You have no fucking right to cast that sort of aspersion on a man who was, had you taken ten seconds to look him up, a fucking pacifist.

    How is what Christoterrorism anyway?

Except that suicide bombings have been occurring before either of the Iraq wars.

I'm just curious as to what it is.
But it would be amusing to catch SAM admitting to a negative consequence of religion.

No, I didn't. I figured I'd be offended and have to blow myself up.

A logical conclusion. It's always true that being offended is cause to act exactly as the offense suggests you might; a veritable black hole of personality. Or is it prophetic?

I have to admit to you now though that I am a theist.

Quite simple, it is Christoterrorism, because the "enemy" is identified by religion. And also attacked on that basis apparently. Hence Islamofascists, Islamic terrorism, Muslim terrorist.

My bad - I thought you meant the oppressive and medieval stuff about women's behaviors, etc.

Of course, none of the people attempting to expand the role of Sharia law have any such improvements in mind - and few regard changes in the fundamental laws, laws handed down from the Prophet himself, as improvements anyway.

And they will devote considerable intelligence and intellectual effort to the cause of imposing Sharia law on as many people as possible.

These people would be well advised to devote as much intelligence as they can muster, to the cause of resistance.

So it seems that intelligence in humans could be an intramural arms race - like height in redwoods - with no particular bearing on survival per se, one way or the other.

No, elsewhere. The "meme" has been around since before there have been bombs.

But you still haven't explained what suicide bombing has to do with natural selection.

Not really, suicide bombers per se were unknown before the LTTE started the trend; and since they have been doing it since the 1970s and have still to get themselves a state, I don't see the point.

    Not suicide bombing, terrorism.

Though one might say that suicide bombing is getting rid of the secular ones who think of political drama as effective; can only clear up the gene pool of future manic politicians.

Terrorism on the other hand, (or freedom fighters) is how Hezbollah got Israel to leave Lebanon; it has made armies and weaponry redundant, that "meme" was responsible for the NATO losses in Afghanistan and is the reason why America will never win another war.

Okay, what does terrorism have to do with natural selection?

And I overstated that, yes. I was more thinking of the idea of suicide missions in general.

Think about it, when was the last time a country won the battle but lost the war? And to a less trained, less well equipped small group of people?

Well there were the kamikaze, as well, I forgot those guys.

Not so long as we are restrained by our "good natures". But good natures run thin. Do you think Nazi Germany would have been bothered by terrorism?

As I said before, the war on Islamofascism will make us more like the barbarians we are fighting. Just as the cold war against the totalitarian Soviet Union increased the role of the state in the US.

Ultimately we will say the hell with it and adopt a "kill em all" strategy. And if Billy is right about the economy in the US being about to collapse, that time may come sooner rather than later.

Chaos in the US could easily lead to a real fascist state. It happened in the Weimar Republic, the Roman Republic, the French Revolution. Could we be next?

Even without such a massive political shift, over time we will become more and more inured to brutality and more willing to unleash it upon our enemies.

I think you'll find having the strings of their economy in other people's hands will curb a lot of American aggression.
