I doubt it. We'd still find some reason to fight. There will always be those 'I'm better than/more exclusive than you' attitudes out there. Plus, regardless of how we evolved, we'd still need land, resources, food etc.; we'd still be fighting over that. There'd probably still be religion and even if we were the same, we'd still have different beliefs, as the many, many bickering factions/denominations of Christian clearly demonstrates.
How would that have happened, given the way the multiregional hypothesis suggests we differentiated? The entire mass of the human species would have had to be in the same place more or less all the time - or we would have had to have access to technology that couldn't have been supported by primitive metallurgy. And what does your inane thought-experiment have to do with human science?
I did not ask how we could evolved the same. I asked: Would the world be a better place, if all people HAD evolved exactly the same?
I understand "There will always be cultural differences". My question is though: Would the world be a better place, if all people had no cultural differences?
maybe, especially if the one culture was japanese. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
You seem to fail to grasp the idea of "cultural" differences. You seem to see it as some all-encompassing thing in a general region or area or family, clan. "Cultural" differences can be the differences from one street to the next, from one neighborhood to the next, ....hell, from one house to the next house. America, for example, doesn't have a single "culture". There's major differences from state to state, from region to region, even within the same state or region. I'd almost be willing to bet that right across the street from you, right now, there's a big difference in "cultures" ...whether you can see it or not. Basically, it seems to me, you're asking what it would be like if everyone thought exactly the same thing about every issue, every situation. And that, of course, is virtually impossible. Even within a single family, there can be vast differences in opinions, thoughts, feelings, ideals, etc. Baron Max
Your right, What I'm asking is what if all humans had the exact same color skin? Would the world be a much better place?
Ah, here we go. You have finally arrived at the crux of this thread. You still do not understand. Skin colour says nothing about culture, personality, religion or personal tastes and preferences. Two white people can have totally different cultures, personalities, religions, tastes and preferences. Therefore there would still be the propensity for war, hatred and violence, as there would be for any 'colour' that everyone happened to be. Surely you aren't so, well, how can I put this best, stupid, to think that if everyone were the same colour, there would be "wars, racism, affirmitive action etc"? Oh never mind. I forgot who I was asking. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It might be calmer, at least from the point of view of human society, but doesn't mean we would all get along. You might avoid some kinds of conflicts if everyone were the same culture. On the other hand, there could be no accusations of genocide.
At least the fighting would be honestly over resources and we could get on with our Darwinian selves.
Humans are already fucked. It's mostly an issue of pride and your perception, no matter how narrow minded, of how much pride each person has. Groups have their cultures. To be able to communicate and understand others is a major necessity. It seems that to relate with each other the issue is a matter of how high up each party is on the Maslow's hierarchy as opposed to the evolutionary scale. The self-perception forms the general perception and it is assumed that everybody's perception is unequal and the questioning of the others' thoughts (which goes to show how little we have in our brains and/or bodies) leads to further intra-group tension. One is not being asked to be colorblind - nor act, nor masquerade - as colorblind, rather one is being asked to embrace the concept that disturbances of the politically correct atmosphere by non-conformities may lead to a dampened social atmosphere instead, lest the truth be told. The truth can be told in a great many ways, but the worst way is to do so with a "I keep my friends close but my enemies closer" attitude. The "enemy" becomes naked with humility if they are psychologically weak and insecure and you start looking guilty. The best way is to make them want to come out and reveal the truth... alas, we encounter the slings and arrows of a caste system. "Racial equality" is a hopeless fiction of the civilized man (i.e. an idiot), but "respect" is the virtue of the wise.
I often thought of that but from an opposite direction far far far into a future where all races and cultures have been amalgamated into a single species. Differences would come off from being a lot more introspective and personalities would be oh so very interesting.
It is quite sick is it not? Study it carefully, the explanation was a nearly perfect execution. Most words are there for a reason as far as I can tell in my present condition.
Do you think "Racial equality" is a hopeless fiction because of man's view of "Racial equality" or natures evolution of "Racial equality"? Right on!
nh ai dout it id think we'd define our selv by country liek wed say god i hate those god dam french liek we do now so no difference
